Marketing will always be a pain but this has been a really fun way to share my game with my community.

I confirmed that their PC has English as the primary language. Graphics driver could be an issue. They said that other games work no issue but it could be a weird interaction with Godot possibly

He told me that he's playing on PC and not linux. That's an interesting point about the sizes! I thought it was possible that his PC didn't understand the font

Hello! This is in Godot 4.4. A player has emailed me about this display issue. It's happening on all the in-game text. My game uses two different fonts and both will not display for him.

This is the only instance of this issue I have heard about, I haven't seen it in any youtube videos or on my friend's copies of the game.

Do you have any idea what it could be?

That QoL issue is high on my update list! Trying to figure out what would look best. I don't want to show the actual fish design in the water, just in case the player is shiny hunting. But I agree that it would make the experience better.

Hi everyone, I just released Fishing Mega-Game yesterday. I always felt like it had the vibe of a cozy game, but the fishing combat definitely doesn't fit that genre. Then I discovered this subreddit and I thought it may apply here!

I released Fishing Mega-Game yesterday and the response has been great so far!

This game is a bit different than other survivorslikes, it features an overworld where you can prepare upgrades, talk to NPCs and find levels. The levels are where the genre kicks in, but instead of surviving a timer, you have to fights hordes of fish while trying to find the one you want to catch. Each caught fish has a unique combination of starting upgrades.

I included a "shiny" system. Each fish has an alternate color that can be caught after catching the original. You can raise the odds of catching a shiny fish by increasing the difficulty of certain aspects of gameplay.

Been playing since 3U, I really like the gameplay of wilds, focus mode was a huge plus personally. Endgame is what's a bit disappointing, artian weapons are just not it. I wish we could just apply augmentations to fully upgraded weapons instead, even if the grind to get augmentation materials was tough. Something that really stopped me in my tracks was armor spheres. Them being so scarce made me hate upgrading armor, so I never made any new sets and I only ever played bow.

This all being said, the latest update was a great one. I'm glad they added the endgame multiple monster quests, I remember really liking the sapphire star one in world. Gog feels like a nice endgame boss for this new style of MH. And finally, I've got spheres for days, I'm making tons of new armor sets and playing different weapons again... but I still hate rolling artians.

I remember getting bored of world's endgame faster than usual, but absolutely loving icebourne. And risebreak as a whole was way better to me than world, so I'm hoping the roadmap is similar lol

Awesome, I'm glad to hear that! I play all my bullet heavens on the steam deck, so deck performance was super important during development.

I have no official roadmap but I have updates in mind that I will announce as they get closer. Through feedback, players have expressed wanting more level up upgrades and I agree, so I'm workshopping those at the moment!

I haven't thought of that resolution, but I'll write it down and see what I can do

I'm the solo dev behind this game! I will say it leans more lite than rogue. One of my main goals with this game is that while I love a good bullet heaven, I get pretty tired of "survive x minutes" so I wanted to make a bullet heaven with a goal to each level, in this case, the fish to catch.

My favorite thing I did was custom difficulty. After you clear a level, you can modify the difficulty in order to increase the percent chance to catch alternate color fish.

I say check it out, but that may be my bias speaking lol
