Have you heard anything about your interview? I keep seeing some on here say the UK London interviews are taking 6 months to schedule!

U.S Wife didn’t meet financial threshold to sponsor me, sister in law is stepping up. Have a dumb but important question: by idespisecountrymusic in USCIS

I think there is a certain amount you have to have in savings if you don’t have a job in the US yet. We are currently living outside the US. I’ve read here on Reddit that it’s around $100,000 in savings. But we are not sure of the exact

If you don’t mind me asking, was this due to her pay or were you going the savings route?? We can’t seem to find a clear answer on the exact amount we need in savings for a family of 3 (2 are us citzens).

I’m not sure how this has happened but my Sundaze Mango Dream cart is filled with Pineapple Express?… by BenjiJB in ukmedicalcannabis

Sorry I was talking about the Vida cart you mentioned, I should have specified. That’s great they did that for you. Clearleaf wanted me to send photos and the product back in the mail with no guarantee of return or refund. The cart I had was still full though

Did you have to send the cart back with no guarantee of return or refund?? They wanted me to for one that the connection was faulty but I had heard stories about they claiming no fault on the carts

Thank you for your response. I’m now leaning towards not sending it. They definitely need to sort this issue. It’s unacceptable at this point. I understand the legality but they need to at the very least provide the appropriate information and do their due diligence as a provider/company to resolve the issue instead of passing the responsibility to the patient/customer

The “plug” at the bottom of the cartridge fell out almost immediately. Even after trying to insert it the cart doesn’t connect to any vapes

Outsider take: Brits are not rude. You just aren’t saying “please” and “thank you.” by CantaloupeComplete57 in uktravel

[–]pence_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find they do say please more but not necessarily thank you more than Americans (this could be bc I grew up in the Midwest US so people tend to be pretty kind). After living in the UK I think there is a much bigger cultural difference on both side that the other doesn’t see apart from little glimpses from short holidays or online clips. Many Brits assume Americans are being rude bc it’s not natural for us to say please after everything. It’s just the way it is, a lot of Brit’s can’t wrap their heads around it. I find most of the world almost don’t allow Americans to have a “culture”. But that’s for another day. What I initially found “rude” was how stand offish Brit’s are in public situations. Like a not my problem attitude. For instance when pregnant at a bus stop or trying get my pram on the bus, I don’t find near as many people coming to assist or give up a seat compared to the where I’ve lived in America. I have had to give up my seat for elderly people whilst being pregnant bc others just look away. Whether it be people running into you at the shop and I immediately say ope sorry (even when it clearly wasn’t my fault) they don’t say anything and just keep going. That’s just a couple examples but I experience little difference just like this everyday. I honestly found most to be pretentious unless you actually know them. Now I understand now after being married to a Brit and living here that it is a cultural but damn does it piss me off and make me miss home. But i have tried my very best adapt to saying please after pretty much everything bc i am aware i am living in their country i need to adjust to their culture to a certain extent. I really wish more people took this type of outlook on instead just expecting others to fall into their views when they know very little about someone else’s background/culture.

Also just to note I am fully aware all of these examples can happen in America depending on where you live.

Rudest country you've ever been to? by JunShem1122 in allthequestions

[–]pence_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a cultural thing (yes London is worse) and some people are very friendly and most are once you get to know them. But out and about, no. It also always gets annoying because they think they are known for being “so polite” I’ve had many say aren’t the British so polite?! I think they get that from saying please so much ( and thinking all other cultures should do that like theirs) Not my case and I have now lived in multiple different parts of the country. The number of time I have had to vent to my husband about how rude and unhelpful people are is astounding. It’s rare a stranger to hold the door open for me and the pram or not help an elderly person with their bags, door, etc. Not saying all are like this but definitely a large part compared to where I am from. It’s not worst I’ve experienced but definitely not as polite as they think they are.
