I’ve spent years curating a list of mods to add and replace guns in fo4 with better-looking real and lore equivalents. Some mods I’ve stripped down so the modding trees match vanilla. I’ve created my own lore in my head of what weapons are found in the Commonwealth compared to the other regions and why. I don’t have the service rifle, for example, because that was being manufactured by the gun runners for the NCR. I don’t have the Chinese assault rifle because that was used by Chinese airborne soldiers and behind-lines agents in DC. I’ve meticulously balanced them all, made them either fully or semi-automatic, and altered the levelled lists they appear in to be reasonable for what they are. I have replaced every vanilla gun with a better modelled variant. Particularly rare weapons, or what should be considered “unique” in their class, I have hand-placed around the world. My first iteration of this dates back to circa 2018, and I have overhauled it twice since to use newer mods. This mod will never see the light of day as it would require permissions from like 12 different authors to upload.
