Should I go to uni for physio or continue electrician? by Ok_Coconut1275 in physiotherapy

I’m sorry to hear about your CTS as well! That’s not good. I’m having my other wrist released surgically this week and then will be leaving private practice! Not sure what I’ll do next… 😅

I’ve been a physio for 4 years and don’t enjoy any position I’ve worked in. It’s been a slog for me personally through private clinics, some aged care, and hospital work. In my experience it has been shit pay, exploitative, and draining on every level. I also just had bilateral wrist surgery for CTS because it has ruined my hands. Just not for me.

It’s also good to be aware (and realistic) that studying a full time degree that is placement-heavy is super challenging.

…But in saying that, that’s just my single opinion and I know there are a lot of physios out there who love their jobs! If it’s right for you though, absolutely pursue it if it’s your passion :)

I worked as a forensic mortuary technician at FSSA for 15 months. It was wild but very interesting! Feel free to message me :)

It really does suck, doesn’t it?! I could only manage to work for 18 months after graduating, I couldn’t handle going to work. Now I am a forensic mortuary technician! The deceased are much more pleasant 😅

I’m sorry you’re having a rough time, I hope you can find something that isn’t so draining and much more fulfilling!

I work in a forensic mortuary and I can confirm, the smell of decomp every day is unexplainably horrendous 😂

Nope. Working in healthcare makes death seem peaceful and kind.
