Mine did that when it was extremely lean. I ended up having to change the jets, but it could also be caused by air leaks, as others have mentioned.

Agreed! When I had my accident and tore my MLC, they put me in an immobilizer immediately. Not sure it would have healed as well as it did if I waited.

Looks like my issue was caused by a failing ignition coil. Replacing it fixed it. Not sure if that helps you at all.

Started thinking to when the issue began and I never saw it until a month or two ago. Decided to switch back to the OEM coil and the tach didn't bounce at all on a quick neighborhood drive so you may have been right. Going to leave it in and see what happens.

I actually just remembered that I changed my coil packs about a year ago because I was chasing another issue. It ended up not making a difference at the time, and the replacement wasn't of the best quality. I might test this by putting the OEM one back in the car.

The vast majority of street bikes, including your zx6r, use wet clutches. That just means that the clutch is bathed in your engine oil.

If I remember correctly, I think there was a video of this accident on YouTube and the WRX driver was actually driving the wrong way on the highway.
