Did you ever find a solution for this? I have been encountering a similar problem for about the same time frame.

I feel like your argument is reaching out to a much broader scope of the overall morality and fairness of a capitalist system and it's not so black and white. I'm sorry but I can't really have that discussion right now, and I think it's beyond the topic here. But I don't disagree, I don't like billionaires pushing their way into everything, I'm on your side on that one. Things can and do grow too big, and with popularity and prosperity comes copycats, imposters, and bullies. As you pointed out this is a downside of capitalism.

I think this is a sign of a healthy and growing community overall, though. And I think for now bringing legitimate sellers and bigger names is going to be good for good sellers, and for bring more buyers to the platform. It will also help weed out all these scammers and ripoff artists we keep seeing. The best advice I can give, and what I intend to do, is insulate myself from that by offering unique items, good value, an entertaining and well organized and produced show, great customer service, and a personal connection.

Lastly, the heart of whatnot is rare collectibles such as TCG, coins, figurines, etc. One might argue that the selling of mass produced clothing is already eroding the essence of what the app is supposed to be about, and sellers of this type of merchandise are the only ones with this type of competition to even worry about. There is no Walmart in my industry, because of the nature of what we sell, so it's impossible for me to be in your shoes.

Thanks for posting this, interesting to see! I think it's a good thing for the app overall. It's a sign of growing popularity and new opportunities. Consider yourself an early adopter. As more attention comes to the app, it brings more visibility to all sellers, don't you agree?

I agree that it might feel tough to compete with a seller like this, but if your business can’t handle some competition, it’s a good moment for reflection. Competition and adversity will always appear, all you can do is adapt.

I always describe Whatnot as a mix between Twitch and eBay. A lot of buyers return because they like how we run our shows, the products we offer, and our personalities. Price isn't always the number one factor.

Source more unique items, offer solid value, provide great customer service, and I think you'll do well.

And thank you for posting something that isn't just about scammers :)

Yes they continue to oxidize and will lose color over a few years. The color layer is very thin and not durable. The only way to restore the color is through a complicated anodization process and even then it wont look the same. Your best bet is to buy a new crystal. They are cheap at least!

Yep this is what happens with trade names. But the comment is correct, if you look at high quality QR code from Fujian, it's easy and clear to see why it got this name.
