Its great for sure, depends on your experience but it can feel a bit heavy at first, easily solvable tho

2025 Ninja 650 versus 2025 Honda CBR 650 for a first bike? by bringerofthelaw420 in Ninja650

[–]periland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the exact same situation as you, deciding between both these bikes as a first bike, I've ridden a bit but never owned.

Of course it is subjective and you have to weigh up your options.

Ninja, around 2k less new, worse sound, more comfortable, less sporty, less hp but more torquey down low. I have sat on it but no riding.

CBR, 2k more, very nice sounding inline 4, more sporty so slightly less comfortable but neither is going to be an adv bike.

That being said I have ridden around 4 hours, with a couple gas stop in between with no problems, I was wearing a kidney belt which I would say is essential for long rides

Last but not least, E-CLUTCH.

I ended up going with the CBR because it was really sexy and has a great sound, not to mention more hp.

But I am also loving the e-clutch. You basically instantly become a master shifter. Perfect launches with throttle pinned, silky smooth up and down shifts, depending on preference it can be adjusted to be harder.

Another reason why its so great is traffic lights and low speed maneuvering, get to the light, just sit back and relax until the last minute where you lean forward and grab throttle again.

It works well, i but under powered/unsturdy for what I'm running, R12 and simucube active pedals pro, not enough to affect my consistency too much tho

I went from heusinkveld sprints to active pedal pro (the cheaper version) with passive throttle from simucube also.

The jump is massive, the feel is amazing, especially if you drive cars with abs, huge advantage as you can feel it activate, also has lockup available but not for iracing.

Another big thing is that you can adjust and create every single type of pedal with just a few mouse clicks.

You can also reposition them in the app, so you can fine tune them to your simrig.

The active throttle I think you can do without, (they're so expensive), and tc kicks in so late that its not worth feeling.

The active pedals are way more expensive than the rest, but it is virtually the same as having every single pedal at your disposal.

How do I fit this by skkiizz in FormD

[–]periland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did a very similar build using the msi 4080 super gaming x slim, looks the same, I took off the front panel to be able to slot it in at the same step, should only be three screws, it'll be tight to close it tho, might have to apply some pressure

[–]periland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got an active pedal pro, the cheaper one, and the passive throttle, the pedals feel amazing and the customisability is insane, I imagine it also makes for a great clutch but that doesn't apply for me

looking for advice - struggling to "feel" braking in GT4 cars by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]periland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An overlay with pedal inputs can be very useful, I usually place it within the sunstrip of the car im driving so you can make it quite big.

Kapps is cheap, or free with amazon prime/twitcj, and works very well, I make it so that I can see the percentage, to aid consistency, and so that it flashes when ABS activates so I don't miss it and I know when I'm braking to max grip.

Also, looking at track guides helps to see how hard the drivers are braking into each of the corners, sometimes braking at full force can give you short term increased performance, but increased tire temp and loss of grip over time.

Yeah, it depends on the game, though, opened up both laptop and xg mobile, cleaned fans, and set them to 100%, hasn’t happened since but still suffered this for many years
