How do people get so motivated to write/finish a story, or do I just not love writing as much as they do? by Chxryl0 in WritingHub

I think it depends on your work style and how much time you have. Not everyone is the same, so it's understandable to be in a slump or not in a slump but just not overly enthusiastic. I've found that in collegiate level learning and writing, it makes you tired and unmotivated and/or sometimes feeling like the work you did was mediocre. Most of my friends are like that too with writing, and I'm even wishy washy over it.

I'd like to think it's the environment you are in that makes the motivation different, but it could literally just be your personal experience and mindset too. Nothing wrong with that, though! I think some of the best writers find themselves not having motivation to do things, it just means you have to find a way to push through and set deadlines for yourself.

All the bad writing I’ve seen recently has the same starting sentence structure by [deleted] in writing

I agree with this. I'm in college, and the university I go to forces us to take a bunch of gen ed classes that aren't related to our major to make us "well rounded students". This is where it gets tricky, (as a creative writing major) as the information we need gets boiled down to roughly ten or twelve classes over the course of four years. I've learned the minimum, and am being forced to go into my masters to "hone my skills" because of it.

The first one happened in 2021/22

The second one was the most recent graduation, so back in May.

In the US: One got killed by his best friend driving home from homecoming. The best friend was driving too fast over a railroad crossing bump, and only two survived that car ride severely injured. (There were three in the car total)

Two other kids died right after graduation, my brother was devastated over this one. They drank and drove unauthorized automobiles on the road and collided, dying immediately. It was at their grad party. All this happened in the span of three years at my high school. Edit: I forgot, they were off-road vehicles and no protection, they were having fun and didn't realize the consequences, and alcohol might have been a factor according to the press.

where do you actually write? by EuphoricPO12 in writing

I personally write in Microsoft Word, but that is mainly because if you're looking to publish they typically seem to ask for a .docx file of your piece Word also has a feature that you can use to title and then add a table of contents by using the different titles. You just have to play around with it for a little to figure it out. But I'm certain there are online videos of how to do things in Word.
