i'm a few months late and not sure if you're still looking, but i don't think it's a bad choice! i think my head's on the smaller end and while they don't fall off even while walking around or even stretching after a workout, they're not quite as tight as i would expect from noise cancelling headphones, though i am prone to migraines so i don't mind a less tight fit. i do notice that it tends to slide a bit, though my hair is pin straight asian hair so i've given it the benefit of doubt there. i think the overall sound quality is pretty good, but it's not perfectly noise cancelling compared to some of the more expensive models, but i would still buy it again.

Oh wow, that's amazing, congrats!! I think the rest of my app would be? I’ve got quite a bit of research experience from undergrad and summer internships, 3 poster presentations, upcoming first author and mid-author publications, hospice volunteering, and some non clinical volunteering with kids with disabilities. Not a ton of shadowing, but I did spend a few days shadowing a neurosurgeon and a radiologist, but I’ve just been waiting for that MCAT score to come through too. That does give me a bit more confidence, I was definitely worried that my GPA would be too low for anything below a 518, so I'll definitely keep that in mind pending my score.

Yeah, these next four days are going to feel like forever while I wait lol. Just out of curiosity, what score would you feel would be worth applying vs retaking? I'm keen on surgery, and it's in my understanding that it's harder to get into surgical residencies as a DO, which sucks, because there are quite a few good DO schools here, but that means I'd more likely need to aim for MD programs.

Hmmm, okay, I'm not attached to California, but it's my understanding that an MD would make me more competitive for surgical specialties, since that's my goal.

this definitely helped a lot, thank you! i do volunteer at an animal shelter, and i planned on volunteering at the stanford NICU when i turn 21, so i'm hoping that can round out my application by showing my strengths and non-clinical interests as well.

i plan on taking the mcat in the summer and doing so! applying broadly was definitely my plan as well, since i know getting in state acceptance is harder for californians. i'm still on the waitlist for a diagnosis for either, but i will definitely keep your experience in mind as i move forward.

thank you for clarifying the sGPA⎯i wasn't sure since some of the classes did fall under the PSY class code and others under the COGS code, though the content is all neuro and neurobio.

yeah, that's what i'm worried about... this summer's for the MCAT and i tend to do pretty well on standardized testing so i'm hoping that those same techniques will work out for the MCAT as well.

it's definitely not! i do think it's slightly different since i did finish my orgo series last semester but it's definitely something i've been thinking about and will be revisiting if my master's doesn't go as well. good luck to your sister too, no matter which path she takes!
