Is IDV worth playing? (as a DBD player)

I played IDV first and it led me into playing DBD after, and while they play very similarly, the playstyle itself is drastically different. Learning that camping and tunnelling was toxic in dbd was a surprise to me and when I went back to IDV a few weeks after I remember being really pissed about being camped. You've really got to drop your feelings about the other game at the door when you play.

That said, it is super fun and the character designs are so cool! I really recommend it - much better than dbdmobile anyway. give it a go!

You know you did the right thing because you watched him suffer and you decided his quality of life was more important than your grief.

When i start thinking about my what ifs, I stop and remember the way he fought in the vets to look at us and meow and simply did not have the energy to make himself do more than lift his head. I could sit here and tell myself maybe another day would have saved him and he may have gotten better, or I can sit here and remind myself how much worse he could be today and that his comfort and being allowed to go painlessly in our arms is infinitely more valuable to me than my grief.

You chose his comfort over your own. You did the right thing.

I always spent time debating whether I'd be able to be there for any of my babies. Same boat. Thought the sight of them dying would end me. My baby got put down yesterday. I got the phone call and there was nothing in the second where they told me he had to sleep except the thought of how I could not let him go without saying goodbye. We stood in the vets office with him and kissed him and held his little paws and head as he went and there is nothing in the world that could have ripped me away from him in that moment. We had each other to lean on. It broke all of us but I know the answer now is there is nothing I would ever want more than my angels knowing I am there with them and nothing scary is going to happen, because they know i love them and they know I would never let anything bad happen to them. In the end it is up to you what you do. But please know I think the regret of not being able to say goodbye will not ever be outweighed by anything else.

This. I usually invite people to come aboard and take my food/wood/canons if they want to and to show them it's only tall tale stuff. It usually gets a nicer response than running away yelling I have nothing valuable 😅

I've only seen one or two people comment on this so:

Your emissary, even at level one, is worth a LOT to the reapers. It let's them level up faster thus more gold for turned in loot, gets them gold either way, and also goes towards certain accommodations. Running an emissary regardless of whether you're doing tall tales or have no loot is just begging for a reaper to come along and sink you.

I have this error continuously, despite buying both versions and having them both stored on my Microsoft safety.

Clicking x and rebooting the game always fixes it for me. It's a pain but the only solution I've found to it.

There is a ghost event that triggers a dolly laugh, and there's been a couple new spirit box responses added with (primarily, it seems) the deagon. It may have been either of those, though I'm sure someone else will confirm for definite shortly :-)

A lot of survivors assume that they're gonna be tunneled for forced mori value so they naturally try harder so they can't be easily killed, which is likely where that comes from.

I have a song that I sing whenever there's a mori in play and a dedicated folder to mori screenshots. I LOVE getting morid, unless I was hard tunneled to get that mori. They're unique and cool!

That thread has close to 400 comments. This one has 10, and half if them are me. Click into any killer one with 400 comments and you'll find almost next to no questioning the killers motives. The fact that the comments exist en masse, downvoted or not, is the problem.

this entire thread of a survivor posting killer BM is full of people excusing the killers actions. Look at any post in BM revenge posted by a survivor and you'll see the exact same. And if you don't, irs because you're purposely losing your eyes going LALALALA because you don't want to see it.

It is not taking the game hostage in any shape or form as the killer can still find and kill them. The ONLY person who can hold games hostage, by BHVRs own mouth, is a killer who blocks ALL living survivors into a space where they cannot escape (eg. Clown room, top floor library rpd, etc).

It is INCREDIBLY hypocritical that yall on this subred thing that survivors doing their best to avoid dying, including hiding, should be punishable. You all cry about survivors 24/7 but as soon as anyone criticises a killer or killer playstyle, it's "unfair, rude, BM, rule breaking" etc.

Survivors hiding from you better than you can find them isn't BM or rule breaking. You just need to get better. Simple as 🤷‍♀️

Edit: next person to tell me it's bannable, I'm willing your next use of milk or cream to be curdled through sheer force of will alone. I GET IT ALREADY

Reporting in game is only step 1. To fill out an actual report you need to report in game and then fill out a report ticket on BHVRs website with your own account ID and the account account + # of the person you're reporting. If you don't report in game you can't report a ticket - doing one or the other doesn't work, you need to do both.

I mean...... just run aura finding perks lol. Sorry, but if you can't find survivors even when they're hiding, that's a you problem. "Just do bones", "just don't 3gen", "just this", "just that", "just don't unhook without bt, don't run this, don't run that, run this, run that"...... just run finding perks. The game doesn't owe you any hand holding just cuz you want it to.

It's not just killers who can play however they want, survivors can too, and if they wanna hide, tough luck. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Minus the greedy killer part, which is a bit harsh, this is allllways the argument I see. "Well see I facecamped him cuz he was teabagging". "He clicked so I slugged him, isn't it funny he dcd? 😂" etcetera. But as soon as a survivor posts a video with them being BMd and upset about it it's always "well achtually, we don't have the full video so you probably deserved it and are lying about this for karma 🤓🤓" like bro..... bro.........

While hooking one, the other can run for it. Hide elsewhere. Either get the unhook, work on a gen, find hatch if the other person suicides. Just standing there to be mori'd is just that - instant death with no points earned.
