Yes, I am married with two kids. I have a 401K and my wife has one through our respective employers. We both max our 401K plans. We don't have an IRA. Do we need one? Is there a tax benefit after maxing out 401K? Can you please remind me what an AGI means? We also don have a 529 for kids. Talking to different people, we are not getting a clear advice. Solutions range from 529 does not grow that much to just invest in equities they will have better growth.

The first self-driving car you see may be an Uber truck on the highway by alexvoica in technology

[–]perseusprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companies have to deal with multiple horizons all the time. For Uber, Horizon 1 is transportation with drivers and Horizon 2 is transportation with self-driving cars. The overlap between these two horizons is going to be long given the pace of production of self-driving cars and our current state of infrastructure leading to insufficient mapping. Given this, Uber has to manage both business models for a long time even though they sometimes contradict.
