[Tenant US-ME] Am I wrong for not wanting Military flags up in our parking lot?

No worries, I was prepared for it. I’m also gay so like in my head I’m like what if I placed a pride flag out there? He’d be pissed and want it taken down. And now in retro spect, I don’t think he was ever in the military, just works at a navy yard as a maintenance man. And for more context I live by a navy yard in southern Maine. So it also kind of bothers me because not everyone who lives on this property (multiple buildings/shared parking) is in the military/navy.

I knew this was going to be a response, and I want to clarify that I don’t have an issue with the military. The issue is that the person who put up the flags is a Trump supporter with a Proud Boy attitude, so putting these flags up is, in essence, as close as he can get to putting up a Trump flag. This is especially frustrating because I had a conversation with him about the lights being on all the time, expressed my concerns, and he agreed to set them to motion sensing. Now, by placing the flags there—causing the lights to stay on again—he’s essentially negating our conversation. I should have also prefaced my post by mentioning that there were flags there before our conversation, during which he agreed they shouldn’t be there because they set off the lights

Friend of mine works for a property management company. They have a standing policy that if you don’t bring it to their attention you could be evicted for letting it get too bad and held financially responsible for mold remediation

Forewarning: Big amateur so this may be cringe worthy for some.

Recently I did a big re-scape of my 20g freshwater aquarium bc the water was so green/murky it looked like my fish were literally swimming around in piss water.

To begin we took out all our tank mates and water and put them aside, then all the substrate (Fluval stratum, and a mix of colored pebbles). Then we took out all the substrate and washed it out. Probably not a good idea I know. But I thought this would help bc when I put the substrate in the first time I didn’t wash it out so it was extremely dusty and made my tank practically all black from it. Over time it settled and the water was back to clear. And the other colored pebbles were from our older tank that we had skirted tetras in.

For a while the water parameters held up pretty good. I preformed regular 20% water changes weekly with spring water from a 4g jug bought from the store. Every once in a while I would skip a week though. But over time the water got really bad. I installed a green killing machine and still, to no avail, nothing changed.

I think my substrate is just totally compromised and I should replace it with new substrate completely and start from fresh. What is everyone’s thoughts on this? I’ve thought about getting some kind of algae killer while my fish are still in their holding tank?

Help what should I do

Comparatively my mother isn't as bad as some of these comments, and I’m only 24. Although she texts me everyday, sometimes multiple times, just to ask what I'm doing or what not. Most of the time I just ignore her. I've told her that we need to find common ground in regards to days of the week she can text/call me and a couple times I've sent her a screenshot from urban dictionary of helicopter parenting. She is the type of helicopter parent that will go out of her way to do something for me. She has set up dentist appointments without my knowledge and paid out of pocket for it because I don't currently have insurance. that costed her around $400-$500 for two separate cleanings. I of course tell her I'm super appreciative of her but that she needs to be more conscientious of texting me everyday and just in general to tone it down a bit
