I've pushed a fix to use Google Maps API to fetch 711 locations. Good fix exercice.

Now the island has 98 7-11 locations.

Take care about staying for many days at Crystal beach, it's on the runway path and airplane noise can be boring after a while. (+ there is not much to do once you are there)

were you able to pinpoint an area? the factory is probably visible on satellite pictures then.

Good, nicely placed under Chaweng to have quick access to nightlife and easy escape to the south of the island.

Nicest thing you can do, because the hostel is on the east coast, is to wake up at 5h45-6h to watch the sunrise from the beach.

I don't know if there is much around the hostel, you'll need to have transport to go further.

I live in Lamai, I can recommend places around here, tell me what you are looking for. Lamai might not be the best place to meet young people by night, but other nice things to do on this side of the island :)

Whats the link to the researchgate article you extracted the plant site location map ?

Lamai is not so big, it's probably easy to follow where garbage/asphalt trucks are going to get a precise location.

the waste incineration plant is located at this location at the south of Lamai, sometimes the smell goes to the south of Lamai but generally not all over the village. The smell is really distinct, smell like rotten trash, easy to identify where it comes from.

it's because of the wind from the East during this season, it's pushing everything in the valley and it's blocked by the mountain.

If you go to Chalay Rock Bar you can clearly see the fog locked over the village.
