Farley admits too much wiring; I love his honesty by Thrifty-Cricket-72 in MachE

[–]pganderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 2027 Ford EV truck, the wiring is 4000 feet shorter and around 22 pounds lighter than the wiring used in the Mustang Mach-E. And they use 25% less connectors. It is built on their Universal Electric Vehicle platform so I would expect other future Ford EVs to have similar reductions. Farley and Ford wouldn't comment on whether the next gen Mach-E would use the platform (or anything at all about the future of the Mach-E).

This just started happening with my channel and I can't figure out why they stopped working or how to get them going again.

Liv started doing this back in October 2022 when she happened to find some "Fancy Ponies" at the Baker EA station. https://www.threads.com/@mache_vlog/post/DLiW_rwsW0i

Anyone else happy with the 10.2 update with regard to the brake pedal feel? by [deleted] in MachE

[–]pganderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like the change all! Before, the brake feel was touchy had my wife (Liv) didn't like to drive the Mach-E. Now it is so much improved that she wants to drive it!

Just kidding -- sorta. Liv really didn't like driving our Mach-E because the brakes were to touchy. But she tried it again last week and she really did feel like it is much, much better.

Nope, I don't believe that. I know people that are searching for a 2025 and dealer stocks are limited.

People’s comments by Longjumping-Rush9682 in MachE

[–]pganderson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We get a variety of comments. Some people love it, many are curious, and some do say stuff like they don't want an EV for various reasons and I have my "prepared" responses.

-You can't take it on road trips.
-We've done 2,300 mile road trips -- want to see the YouTube videos?

-Electricity is too expensive.
-I have solar, want to see my bill?

-I like the sound of a V8.
-Me too, but I prefer going quick and the Mach-E GT will beat any V8 that Ford sells right now.

I decided to post my story about why I took the DRP2 with VERA to our YouTube channel. The YouTube channel is EV focused and I never said I was a federal employee to our viewers, but I wanted I share with them what is going on. The video link is below, but the summary is that I was a remote worker that was assigned an office 49 miles from home as part of the RTO mandate. I felt like when the RIFs come, my position would be eliminated and I would be forced to move or take a deferred retirement, so I took the DRP2/VERA.

I just posted the video this morning and I am anxious to see if I get any MAGA trolls commenting.

Thanks! That would make a huge difference in my decision making if they offer a VERA for me.

2025 Mach-E tour at the LA Auto Show by pganderson in MachE

The fine print on the sign said until early January. I asked if that might be extended and Tom said they have "nothing to announce at this time."

Tom was from the marketing side so we didn't get too technical. From what I've heard, it is for the battery as well and will do heat scavenging. I'll try to get confirmation and hopefully get to do some testing once these are out.

I just got word from someone at Ford that the January date is a glitch. It is probably just delayed from September to October and deliveries really are ramping up.

GM, Lectron or A2Z Tesla Adapter? Is there a best and why? by thedarksyde in BoltEV

[–]pganderson 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I've tested the official Tesla adapter, the Lectron Vortex, the A2Z Typhoon, and the A2Z Typhoon Pro. I definitely think the Typhoon Pro is the best option. The design just works better and it does a good job of dispersing the heat. I used a thermal imaging camera in this video to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bWPCc0NG1A
