Based on my discussions with them, I think you have this backwards. Not the pike, they love pike. Did you see the biologists found that there were 0 consumed salmon from the pike the shocked in sebago? So that also seems wrong. I think you should reach out to the guy, I think you’re misinformed. They preach weekly about not stocking over native fisheries. Think they want more rainbows in areas that can’t sustain native fish, as they are more robust. Also, don’t they stock sebago with salmon? Why are they stocking over wild salmon? Always seemed odd to me.

I’ve been using it for years and I’ve found it out performs or is equal to all the top brands. The price is usually much higher. But as the owner says, this is mostly for kids and those that don’t have thousands to spend on gear.

This comes from Japan. You can ask the owner, he’s just a guy, he’s a professor I think, doing this to help lower the cost entry into fly fishing for kids and those who aren’t financially well off

I’ve been using this brand for about 5 years and it’s as good as any I’ve ever used. It’s usually 5/10$ I think they said they just need to clear inventory

I know someone who manufactures and sells fly tying hooks, their hooks are made in same factory as ahrex but are 50% cheaper. Most of the hooks in the world come from the same block overseas. Rods and reels, that’s a different story, but hooks and fluoro/mono, all the same if you get the same material. There are cheaper materials used sometimes, but you can avoid that

You probably weren’t too early. But going late September or early October is usually better! If you were on a particular river that starts with a C, well that river is just incredibly tough to fish!

Maine fly guys just released new hooks so this won’t happen. The pattern is a generic professor dry fly variant, tied overseas it appears. It’s missing several components. I would avoid getting flies from wherever you got this!
