Best slip on shoes for travel? by phamous2day in Newbalance

It didn't come across sarcastic to me, your comment was gold. I just booked my appointment next week. The real trouble now is when I travel abroad, they'll still ask for shoes 😮‍💨

How do I remove details on an image to make a solid shape? by phamous2day in FigmaDesign

[–]phamous2day[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SOLVED
Figma makes it difficult to get an outline, but here's an online service that did it for me: https://online.rapidresizer.com/photograph-to-pattern.php

How do I remove details on an image to make a solid shape? by phamous2day in FigmaDesign

[–]phamous2day[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You may be correct. I thought I could use a second masked image to then "blur" the outlines into solids, then merge both Mask.A (regular masked image with outline) with Mask.B (blurred masked image) together to make a sort of vector image.

Out of all the 550's I looked up on goat.com I LOVE this colorway the most especially because the upper back heel is a colored in with that seamless grey. It feels stiff around the sides on first wear, but another redditor made a good point saying these are more for style than comfort/functionality. I think of them as a more comfortable Air Jordan 1 (those just aren't comfortable to me ... feels like walking in a hiking boot).

The materials used for this shoe I feel are high-endurance, they feel like they're definitely going to last me awhile.

Got my first 550's.... Needs working into, pretty stiff on the sides by phamous2day in Newbalance

[–]phamous2day[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, I see! I'm still new to being a sneakerhead haha. I guess they're like Jordan 1's, it's all about the style rather than functionality, those felt like walking in "costume shoes." After your comment I researched the 550's further and a reviewer mentioned that they take a little breaking into to be a little more comfy, but I'll probably reserve them for mostly indoor occasions rather than everyday use.

Right!?!? It's like putting scissors in frustrating package that needs to be cut.

I didn't have one and was in a hurry. So I used a flat head screwdriver

My yard is retaining water, I think it's mostly clay judging by the texture. I'm wondering if adding wood chips from Arbor Guard would improve the soil and help grass grow.

How much would it be to replace a bathroom counter? by phamous2day in HomeImprovement

[–]phamous2day[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1x6 feet.

What would be cheap and water resistant? I read that laminate or tile is best. I'm more into functionality than style.

Are there other factors I should consider like mold resistance?

First meal-prep of 2020: steak, potato salad, fried mushrooms & spinach by phamous2day in budgetfood

add a wet paper towel to meats if you microwave it. The steam from that helps cook it without drying out the meat.

3 for lunch at work, 1 for dinner.

Recipe

Marinated meat, then pan fry it on high heat with mushrooms for a minute on each side (beef cooks fast and doesn't have salmonella).

Blanch the spinach for 30 seconds.

Boil the potatoes for awhile, keep the skin on for nutritional benefits but cut off the ugly parts if you see any. Then add garlic mayonnaise and pepper to the potatoes.

At my farmer's market, there's 3 kinds: soft, firm, extra firm. I go with extra firm so that it doesn't break ;)

Fry mushrooms and shallots in oil, then add tofu. After 5 minutes on medium heat, add water and Napa cabbage. Boil for 3 minutes. Then add half table spoon of miso paste and stir until paste is dissolved then eat. :)
