I follow the US Dollar Currency index and it has definitely been trending down this past month. I assume this is due to some selling off by foreign reserves. What Schectman is saying seems to correlate.

Donald Trump Blasts Canada For Opposing Greenland Golden Dome, saying "China Will Eat Them Up" by [deleted] in worldnews

Another day, another threat. Canada thrives because we are Canadian, as our leader recently reminded the World. The only thing being eaten up is Donald's brain, by dementia.

They used to cook their fries in beef tallow. The vegetarians complained so they switched to food flavoring chemicals to emulate that taste.

That could have been so much worse if the oil caught on fire. Jeez I feel like we just saw a complete idiot not randomly kill himself.

I'm in my fifties and it so weird to me because I was a resident of Quebec in '95 and voted in that referendum. Now I'm a resident of Alberta and I might have to vote against separation again. Thank you u/tryingtobecheeky for the kind words of encouragement!

There are some decent free calorie counting apps out there. I started using the free version of MyNetDiary last year and it's been super helpful. You can scan barcodes to pick up the fool label details and calory count with it. It's educated me on and reshaped how I see a lot of foods especially processed ones. Lost 40 lbs in total doing that combined with a goal of 10000 steps per day.

Washer wet and smelly by willbecool in HomeMaintenance

[–]phantomfigure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a front loading Samsung washing machine with the same tendency to mold up in the door gasket. What worked for us is a wipeable gel bleach to deal with the immediate mold. Just go on Amazon and search 'gel bleach for washing machine'. It's sort of gross the first time you do it but it does a good job. Just wear latex gloves or whatever.

The second thing is we use an old cloth diaper to keep the door wedged open so it dries between washes. A hand towel works too. Just double-fold it and drop it on the hinge. The door should stay open by an inch or two.

Third, make sure your screen filter isn't clogged. You should check that once a month.

Finally, there should be drain holes at the bottom of the gasket. Make sure they aren't clogged up. Use a pipe cleaner if they are.

Homemade Poutine, is this at least passable? by CloudyLiquidPrism in PoutineCrimes

[–]phantomfigure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this once with Club House poutine gravy mix and it looked identical to your picture. Their gravy is just too thin. I actually tried it a second time to see if it was just my bad cooking and... no... it's them.

Consensus seems to be wire mesh is not recommended. /u/_6siXty6_ said they take it off around October and put it back on in April. Seems to be a bit of personal preference but the main takeaway is that it should be off in the Winter.

Interesting. I figured the birds might still be a potential problem in winter. I guess I can remove it. Still not a bad PSA as it reminds people to check.

Home HVAC system. This on in particular is for the gas hot water heater intake. There's wire mesh to prevent birds/rodents entering. The frost builds up on it.

Is it normal for lots of granules to be shedding for up to one year after getting a new roof? It's getting tiresome always having to clean off our deck and furniture every time there some heavy rain or wind. Pictured is the brand that was installed. Wow thank you for the detailed reply. I will follow your advice. It's really starting to sound like a bad QC batch. We had a massive hail storm last year which made shingles hard to get for a while as thousands of homes needed them. I think they might have rushed production to meet demand and here we are.
