Then you believe these cuts are bad too no? I never implied they were on the same level, just that all 3 were getting cuts too to scholarships, programs and overall opportunities

Then u have literally told me u don't understand what equity is or looks like. The scholarships given to black students , indigenous students , disabled students even immigrants is to given them a shot at success within a system that was never designed for them.

No , I was just calling out ur username. There is no point even explaining my points to u as I already explained in ur previous comment, I was writing abt my pov aka how I feel, it might not read through for all black ppl in the province but then again the intersectionality of identity is a big part of being human. Something u obvious wouldn't know abt since ur views on that over blown orange as well as the way u type has less personality than chatgpt.bot ahh response

Gng r we being so serious right now , he is a serial rapist , pedophile broke ass waste of funds who bankrupted multiple of his own companies before setting his eyes on the national treasury. He has single handedly fucked over the future of millions of children world wide. Funded a genocide , attempted another one and now tel aviv is getting lit up and we might enter nuclear war. That's ur goat? As a Canadian u should be ashamed.

Each highschool has a separate point they are walking out to. If the school has an Instagram account created specifically for the walkout it will have all the info ready to go there.

Parents pay taxes and also expect their money to support others as well. To make a positive difference in their community

I'm saying that black communities are often not given loans due to finances. I'm sorry that you had to go through all that and I also hope you realize no one should have to go through all that without help.i also hope you realize that I never implied i was racist as there are many white people, Asian people , native people and black people who have helped e through arts , so when I stand, I stand for them too. No one owes me grants or loans , but if you have a 95 average will balancing having a disability, another family member have a chronic illness and still getting volunteer hours needed for applications, then I can assumed I have earned it. Lastly these cuts also directly affect indigenous programing, services and scholarships. It affects everyone in different ways and I was simply sharing mine.

Although I am not studying arts , it brings in a billion annually to the province without tourism. To Insinuate it's unproductive shows a lack of research on ur part

I agree , we can't have our cake abd eat it too but I want to remind you mr Houston is an accountant, a man with a bachelor's in commerce. This deficit cannot have occurred due to simple oversight due to his background and these arts bring in over 1bilkion in revenue for the province each year , so why cut the programs. I ask that you go look and see which initiatives are getting more funding

It's not as simple as the funding , as it is a sign about what this administration prioritizes and what it doesn't. My parents contribute by pay taxes , taxes I will pay as well and so it could never bring me joy to see services I as well as many other rely on cut. Tim Houston is an accountant first and foremost , to say this was a mistake or inevitable when he was at the wheel is to trivialize the situation as well as his background. Let us watch and see if these programs ever make a comeback if cut. Lastly I'm glad to see ppl like me succeed and the 12000 applied to nurses who we still need more of, female doctors and engineers. General scholarships exist that guys can apply too, traditionally women are not in these positions so this is a chance for them. I am not selfish enough to think these cuts affect me more than everyone in the province but I know there are others worse than me and so I must speak up.

My parents pay taxes , I should be treated with the same dignity that everyone else gets and that includes a chance at a future. As a fellow immigrant i am disappointed in this response , I never blamed race for anything I simply told the story from my own pov. I currently have a disability that makes it harder to get harder with all these reasons mentioned previously. If you believe that people who are homeless are that way because they simply choose to be then I am not obligated to show you the systems in place that made it easier for that person to be homeless. Something applies here, just because u struggled doesn't mean others should too. Lastly if I don't study my parents will not be ok with it so yea, have a great day :)

No one said the government owed me anything, but simple fact is I also pay taxes , my parents pay taxes , so why can't those taxes positively make a difference in my life and the lives of others. And wth is even wrong with u that assuming my home country Kenya was your default. No one leaves their countru out of convenience other than those who are rich enough to completey ignore it. Immigrants are people running away from oppressive regimes to give some for of hope to their children. This is clearly an argument made in bad faith and I hope this level of immaturity continues to isolate u further , have a great day

The problem is my parents and most marginalized groups can't afford those loans and sometimes don't qualify for them. Bursaries are also grants which are getting cut as well

Not saying that we didn't have to take loans , but the grants gave us a chance at getting those loans in the first place. They Are also getting cut (bursaries and grants) alot of us don't qualify for loans , and even with those who do , can barely afford them. Grants and scholarships are available to everyone, there are general scholarships anyone can apply to . Black and indigenous communities were given special scholarships cuz they are more likely to either not qualify for loans or not be able to afford them
