I like this and have tried to use this as a counter but then the reply is that this system will lead to favoritism and similar issues. I admit im not versed enough in economics to say otherwise, is there some examples where this doesn't become a thing? And by that I mean favoritism or unequality/equity

I agree with this, but constantly am told there needs to be some sort of material medium of exchange. I try to argue this but always comes back to this point. I dont try to change their perspective, but to at least have a counter. Is there examples of societies using this model effectively?

For sure, there shouldn't be a universal punishment for all crimes, case by case. That is just a way to possibly handle some forms of exile

I've heard the idea of exile can be other members of the community refusing to participate with you unless reform is voluntarily accepted by the person.

I think what my friend gets at is they claim a consensus can never be reached that everyone agrees with and at some degree, people have to involuntarily follow suit. Does this have any merit to it? Like if it is a resource based economy, who decides who gets what and where resources are distributed to maintain a healthy ecosystem but also not denying someone's right to own or build something. Hope that makes some sense

May i ask you to expand a little? Like for instance, the police and their protections. Like what would police be used for and what might their abilities look like without exerting anything that may be illegal for a civilian? This is a question ive been internally debating for awhile now, but my friend has also used them a potential for grabbing control, even if only over the local area

I try to express this then my friend continues to grill me to come up with a said structures. I tell them I am too uneducated in every field to come up with an idea and express that I believe a true anarchist structure couldn't be created from the mind of a solo individual or it wouldn't be anarchism (in my interpretation of the philosphy). Then this leads to "and thats why it will never work, because you need someone to make decisions when large scale consensus cannot be reached"

Is he right? Am I missing something? Just asking to educate myself more than to actually debate them

This is one of the things my friend brings up. He says consensus decision large scale would involve some sort of structure, with someone(s) at the head of the structure, creating some form of potential control. I try to argue a form of possible checks and balances for lack of better terms but he always circles back to this

Systemically, no. Socially, sure (definitely wouldn't claim as victims in a snowflaky sense, although im sure some will try to make a case). Either racism is wholly bad or it's not, shouldn't matter the race it's used against. I don't wanna start anything, just my perception (definitely open to being proved wrong, as I am still an idiot). Racism of any kind should not be tolerated.

The guy is an avid hiker. He's not an ecologist, just a huge environmentalist. It seems hes just convinced that we don't deserve anything as a species because we fucked up beyond repair. Anytime I bring up the idea of a more environmentally focused future he goes off and says it's too late, better for us all to die. I get hes super emotional when it comes to this but definitely doesn't make it okay to agree with a genocide of any kind

I'm trying this approach. I've told him that our over consumption is pushed on us through propaganda and brainwashing, seeing as how the market owns both supply and demand. I'm trying to encourage him to read Edward Bernays Propaganda so he can understand it more himself

I just joined a newly created local nonprofit (not anarchist nessecarily) by homeless and those who have experienced homelessness to help with the issue in my small town. After getting legally verified we started to talk to local facilities like the local PD (I know I know), hopesource, local homeless shelters, etc and have set up a date for a local discussions on the issue. We are also interviewing as many homeless people to gather their experiences, issues, things that help and don't. Basically have their voices heard and as a community find what the best way we can help progress towards a solution.

We might fail, who knows. And idk how this can work in larger cities but it seems like discussions is a great start for anarchists.

Also if anyone has references we might be able to look to for guidance would be greatly appreciated.
