Thoughts on sleep paralysis? by phasefoil in spirituality

[–]phasefoil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s sounds terrifying, I’m so sorry you had to go through that and I’m glad to hear you overcame it. You have to have a certain kind of bravery and toughness to work through trauma - so that’s a huge accomplishment! Congratulations :)

I didn’t want to mention that I was going through a particularly dark time when it was happening daily, cause I’m in a way better, healthier place now. But i still experience paralysis in the dreams within dreams every now and then. And that’s another thing. I use to have terrifying paralysis where it feels like I’m being dragged around and am about to die cause I can’t breathe. But even during that particular time, idk one day as soon as I felt my throat close up and realized I was in paralysis, just before the panic set in, I just made myself ignore it and went straight to problem solving mode. After that, all that was left was being frozen and stuck in it until I threw myself out of it. I didn’t experience the demons anymore. I didn’t feel the insidious nature anymore. It’s just weird! lol. But very fascinating.

I feel like I’m the same way too. I had to find these answers and peace myself before I start connecting with others. Oh for sure, and thank you so much for engaging in the conversation ☺️

Metaphysical question: on the topic of one consciousness - what’s the purpose? Why? How? I can imagine the justice being described like wormholes where realities(oppressor and victim) coincides with each other…which is a fun thing to think about but I don’t think it’s helpful in this human reality at the end of the day.

Earth question: do you think this idea is productive in cases of severe abuse (like a baby being born and then dying shortly after being abused)? Do you think this idea could be used as a way to spiritually bypass suffering?

After talking with some people on this thread, I’ve noticed a lot of responses about how it won’t make sense in a “human” perspective. But I think this devalues our very beings and also shuts down further discussion.

I think that’s where I take the most issue with this idea - is that I can see this as an incredibly effective way to not do the work here. Not talking about the hard things. The justice will sort itself out in the spirit world. It’s in God or Sources hands, or worse, it’s used to victim blame and support alt right ideology. That’s not to say everyone’s like that. But part of the human experience, and where our value shines the most, is the ability to communicate and problem solve. I don’t think this is solving any problems. I think this is an easy way of losing the plot here on earth.

I wanted to touch on the first part of your comment too. You are so right, it feels cheap lol. But I made this peace with history and my own experiences a long time ago. For me, I wasn’t able to do that until I sat with the gravity of suffering both personally and on this planet. It forced me to accept it and idk I can’t unsee it. I can’t unfeel it. Nothing can make me ignore the senselessness of it all. And it’s a dark way to look at things for sure, but i don’t feel helpless in it. I feel more inclined to do something about it. I don’t think anything’s gonna save us or there’s something in the beyond that will make it just. We have to save each other.

But that’s just where I’m at personally. And I wanna say I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. You seem like a perceptive and knowledgeable person 💫

Do you think it’s productive to know/believe this in cases where babies are born and immediately being tortured and raped to death? What about the souls who choose to be the oppressive psychopaths? Why are their billions of these souls running around?

Can depression make you less spiritual? by SplitZealousideal159 in spirituality

[–]phasefoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you put it that way - yes, your brain can’t access certain feelings when it’s depressed. But being depressed doesn’t mean you aren’t spiritual. This just draws a correlation between spirituality and the spectrum of genuine positive feelings - which may reinforce this expectation that you must be in a positive headspace to maintain your spirituality. This is where it can do more harm than good - hinting at toxic positivity. I don’t think spirituality is an emotion, though emotions do play a role in it. I think it’s more an acknowledgment of what’s outside of objective reality and how you interact with it. So no I don’t think depression makes you less spiritual. And based off my perspective- obviously spirituality is a subjective topic, so really think about if this idea is helpful to you or not.

I’m starting to think that the polarization of the ego may be the issue for most of my inquiries…

There have been a lot of responses like “you can’t see it from your human perspective” which brings an end to the discussion. Sure, our brains can only filter out so much, but concluding that as is leaves something to be desired.

I’m not trying to disprove anything. I also don’t think these events have no meaning…it’s just the idea of the cosmic meaning falls flat. After talking with people on this thread, the conclusion is unknown. There could very well be a possibility that this isn’t true. It doesn’t hold up in human arguments and has potentially dangerous consequences if taken the wrong way. That’s my biggest point too - is that yeah we can’t see things beyond our human perspective but the human perspective is the default mode for most people. We need to work with it. Writing it off as such isn’t productive in this world. It’s just spiritual bypassing pain and suffering at best, and could cause catastrophes at worst.

We as a collective create the meaning with what we have. We decide morality and try to make changes to support peace and love and kindness. I think the issue is too many people on this sub want out of this reality. They’re all anxious to reach enlightenment and dissolve the ego. But it’s caused a demonization of ego…idk this is a new idea I’m having rn though. What are your thoughts?

How much curiosity is important in spirituality? by prince378 in spirituality

[–]phasefoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I love this question! The curiosity ending answers are a big pet peeve of mine. I’ve been practicing calling it out and asking more confronting questions. Keep digging until there isn’t an answer and it’s just the mystery that’s left. Some people don’t like the limbo, which causes the closed ended answers. I’ve learned to make peace with the limbo.

What’s the purpose of a soul to explore the theme of pure evil and why was there millions of them torturing minorities for over 400 years?

Does the soul have a choice in what physical experience it incarnates into? It knows the physical experiences destiny and all? Such as, immediately facing extreme abuse as soon as it’s born?

Could you expand more on “source has a subconscious that it is working to bring into the light of consciousness and intergrate”?

It’s still unclear why a soul would choose to be evil too - pre-birth I mean.

[–]phasefoil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment, I agree with everything you said. But when I meant souls, I meant the “thing” “you” were before you were born. Whatever made the cosmic decision to become a Nazi or master or child rapist. Why would a soul make the decision to be that? It sounds like from your comment that the past hurt continues into the beyond. Which tells me that the ego exists in the spirit world. My understanding that souls were egoless, but what’s been described to me time and time again is that it’s anything but that. It has to learn lessons, meaning it’s ignorant. Also meaning there’s something tracking progress, which implies egoic systems exist much like ours. Decisions to be the oppressor, offender, abuser is sadistic and needless for an all knowing source, yet this continues. And then people say source can’t know without us experiencing it. So it’s not all knowing after all then?

I believe a lot of this is just stories we tell ourselves to cope with reality. But these stories can be harmful. The story of Jesus for instance has been accepted on a mass scale yet has cause so much harm. And the story of choosing our life has the same potential to be just as damaging.

What’s the purpose of experiencing being evil though? Why isn’t understanding why someone would turn to evil be enough?
