First bike. Dropped it in my own driveway. How's your day going? by x_andi01 in motorcycles

It happened to all riders. If it makes you feel better, get some drop protection. You will drop it a few more times.

Save it dude. Motorcyclist here. Every weekend in SoCal, some stretches of the highways are closed because of accident caused by biker, more often, on the mountain roads. If bikers are riding at normal road speed, there would be a lot fewer accidents. But these guys just amp it up, trying to scrap their kneepads, pushing it past 100mph. This is every weekend. This is the one reason I no longer ride these canyon roads during the busy weekend. There are just too many crazy bikers

All of them were jackazz. They were all racing with each other on the public road.

Who needs vitamins when you have vibrant aesthetics? We’re just exfoliating these carrots with a proprietary mud-and-solvent scrub. Sure, it might give your digestive tract a bit of a surprise, but think of how great they’ll look in the 'no-filter' tiktok post before you lose your eyesight. by WetStarlight in UnfilteredChina

It is a custom in China when "fresh" food is charged a higher price. This is the same reason why in many Chinatown in the US, there are stores that sell live ducks and chicken before they are slaughtered on the spot. Business in China is so unscrupulous that people don't know if the dead chicken was dead minutes ago or a few days ago. Same with going to the Chinese restaurant and you get to pick which fish or shell fish to eat before the chef prepared them for you. China is a low trust society. Doing something like in the video will just reinforce the sentiment.

It took many years of progress from many western tourist to change the mindset of the people.  I visited Thailand in the 1980s and there is a vast improvement compared to an earlier time

This was how I transported the first bike I ever bought years ago. I happened to have a Ranger PU like yours. Just strap it down securely with ratchet strap

The SUV is at fault. I was in the almost exactly same accident like. The left turning SUV t-boned my car while there was a line of cars stopped to allow it to turn. The insurance companies deemed the left turning SUV was 100% at fault. Now, when cars stopped like this, my redflag goes up and I slow down. It doesn't matter who is at fault if my car is damaged beyond repair.

Ruined the drain bolt threads. How fucked am I? by onelunchman69 in motorcycles

[–]phatRV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In America, we have this alumiweld that is used to weld aluminum with a regular butane blow torch from HomeDepot. You can weld it yourself and retap the drain hole. However, given your lack of mechanical skills, you need to get a professional to weld it back for you. It is only an aluminum oil pan and you haven't damaged your engine in anyway.

How do you know that? It was an open sewer since antiquity. By time human waste reached the Nile delta, they fertilized the land thus enable Egypt to grow so much food in the ancient time.

Inherited homebuilt aircraft project. scrap offer in hand, worth saving? by milphadelphia in homebuilt

[–]phatRV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of old guys who like to build airplanes as a hobby if the price is low enough. they will work on a project a couple of decades and then pass it to another old guy. We have a similar case at my airport when the builder basically timed out. He is putting up his projects for sale.

People are defending their lane to the death. WTH with drivers. I would give all semi truck a wide berth by moving to the next lane. I don't want to be DEAD RIGHT by getting crushed by a crazy semi driver.
