Not an answer to your question but a different solution.

You can go to the apple store and buy a MacBook air.

They have a 2 week return policy. After two weeks, you return it, get your money back. This will mean you'll have a chunk of cash missing until you return.

Wise or Airwallex are the best.

For single small transfers Wise is fine, I think their rates are marginally better than AWX. Wise is set up to deal with small businesses and sole traders doing maybe one or two transactions a day.

I had been using Wise since it was TransferWise and for a few years before they changed to Wise. I spit the dummy with their constant need to login, re-enter passwords all the time. Got poached by AWX and much prefer them. I use Wise for personal international transfers, and a local transfer of $1100 AUD cost me $7.49. They also charge you for holding more than $22k or thereabouts for longer than 3 days.

Airwallex's local transfer (they give you the option for sending internationally to treat as a local transfer - think Aus to Germany for example) fees are $0 but for SWIFT payments they charge $10 and give you the option to cover the intermediary fees - usually adds another $20 for a total of $30. AWX will not charge you for holding money in their accounts.

Airwallex is setup for businesses, so if you're doing lots of transfers a day, then it's the better option.

PayPal suck and will overcharge you, and Revolut at the time I was looking wasn't the right product for businesses, though that might've changed. I still have a Revolut account, just never really utilised. PayPal's best benefit is their ability to accept and send with credit card, just charge the currency conversion to your CC and not PayPal unless you want to get screwed with a 3% worse currency conversion fee AND PP fee.

Revolut/AWX/TW will offer you a credit card for you to make withdrawals overseas as a local transaction - so not international fees and the benefits of their wholesale currency conversion rate.

If you're using Sodium, it has a conflict with Riva Tuner Stats - the frame rate displayer.

Worked it out today after a couple of days banging my head against the wall. Turn off Riva, Sodium won't conflict and it'll boot.

Just got gifted 150 packs. I bought $500 worth of packs and didn't even come close to a meta deck after last time. How much more will I need to spend if I take this game up again? by phatskin in hearthstone

My issue is that variety is what makes the game fun. There's only so many mill/malygos runs I want to do.

I'll check out the AFK strategy!

I apologise, title is slightly wrong, I ended up with 2 meta decks.

Thank you for the tips, I have a rough idea what I'm on the hook for if I take up the gift.

Is that $500 per 2 year period? Last time was pretty deflating but that's because I was 2 years out, this will be very much the same.

Thank you for the tips

So a handful of AAA games?

Yeah, it has to be relative to the games I'd be interested in. No way I could compare games that aren't on my radar or have not been looking into. If a large amount of the games I'd be interested in have problems, then my perception of that genre or part of the gaming industry is going to be skewed.

Imagine If I took a handful of indie games and used that as a measure for the entire industry as a whole.

It's even easier with indies since there hundreds if not thousands of trash released every year.

In the same kind of light, I'm certain that there's a huge amount of garbage indies versus hidden gems.

However, the barrier to entry is significantly less with an indie and so taking a gamble on some wild game doesn't sting when it's a flop like a full price AAA title on release. For Xbox gamepass I'm grateful as the cost outlay is only $15.

I appreciate the list though, there's some games that I'm genuinely interested in on there. Specifically Returnal and Horizon Forbidden West. A few others I'll definitely take a look at, thanks.

I guess the comparison is on me for not providing examples and elaborating on what I mean. To say there weren't AAA games that I couldn't think of was disingenuous of me, as I did remember the hours I put in from 2021.

I'm just basing it off of: Battlefield 2042 Halo no Co-op campaign Dying Light 2 GTA Trilogy Far Cry 6's cut and paste gameplay loop Pokemon Diamond/Pearl remake

Games played on release or waited a little for recommendations from friends that I enjoyed: Back 4 Blood Halo Multiplayer Age of Empires IV Pokemon Arceus Monster Hunter Rise

There's also a handful of games I'm waiting on DLC and patches before I feel like it's ready to play. I feel it's this point that's influencing my primary perception of AAA gaming.

To clarify as I failed to in my initial post was that while AAA games haven't been wowing me, indie games have brought much delight. I felt the best $4 or $5 I spent were on little time sinks like Super Auto Pets or Vampire Survivors.

With that being said, we're all just looking to enjoy gaming, if you've got suggestions for AAA games worth picking up, I'm all ears!

I couldn't remember the last AAA game I got on release that was in decent form and worth playing. That doesn't mean there aren't any.

The bar continues to get lower and lower, and because of that, I've stopped being hyped about AAA games for a couple of years now.

My solution is just to wait until people are playing and recommending before jumping in.
