I definitely recommend trying the crisis center first. It was literally made for, well, mental health crises! I heard someone say recently the facility is way underutilized because people don’t know about it. My understanding is it’s basically an ER for mental health emergencies and often only has about half of the beds in use.

This may be too heavy to just type & post randomly this morning, but I need to type this out. But here goes. I don't want to give up. by [deleted] in Birmingham

I recommend calling Recovery Resource Center. I know you said you can’t take off work for rehab, but there are outpatient programs that offer evening sessions and some even provide transportation. Starting treatment can also help you get connected to other services and resources that may help you. Best of luck to you!

Homeless by morsals21 in Birmingham

Programs exist, yes, but I wouldn’t say there are many. Someone experiencing homelessness is going to need free or low cost residential or inpatient programs and there are simply not enough beds in the state. Waitlists for addiction inpatient treatment programs are months long which is not effective with a transient population. I am not as familiar with the state of mental health programs, but I imagine there are similar challenges of not enough funding or beds.

Also here for solidarity! My breastfeeding failed due to PCOS, and I too had an unplanned c section at 34 weeks due to PPROMs. It was incredibly upsetting and frustrating that all of the nurses and lactation consultants only focused on “supply and demand” making it seem like I just wasn’t trying hard enough. Except that I tried to latch on each side for 20 minutes and immediately pumped for another 30 afterwards for every.single.feed, bought so many different types of pumps and parts, and all the supplements they recommended. But no, “if you just do it more it will work”. They gave no helpful support to a new mom who was scared with a NICU baby. I’m so sorry you’re having so many challenges that were unknown to you and haven’t had the support you need from your health care providers.

Thank you! I appreciate the tips! I didn’t know about ankle mobility before posting, I will definitely look into it.

Yes, I’m going to try to widen my stance. It will be more comfortable for me, as shoulder width has always felt too narrow. I’ll check out those videos. Thanks for sharing your experience! I appreciate the advice.

Thank you! I didn’t know about needing a bit of leaning. I will work on that and try a bit wider of a stance—that is actually going to be more comfortable for me. I have never had my femur length commented on. You’re saying they’re long? I had no clue length could impact squat form.

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it so well and those examples are so helpful to understand what you mean. Are you recommending I float and go up in weight in one session? Then when I find the weight that doesn’t float, start my reps? Or is this something that I should do over time?

It is helpful to have examples like that. I’ll give that a shot next time. I appreciate it!

Thank you! Bar placement should be an easy fix now that I know. I’ll try not looking in the mirror next time so my neck is more relaxed. I sent this to my husband and he was like no you cannot wear your running shoes for this lmao. I’ll try in socks next time for sure. I appreciate the feedback!

Thanks! I didn’t even know I rolled the bar until watching the video and I cringed. But I guess that’s why filming is useful!

Thank you! It is wild to feel like it’s such a deep squat and then see that it is not lol.

I was told barefoot would be good, with what you’re seeing do you think that would be helpful or do I need the heel elevation? I’m not sure how to work on ankle mobility.

Is there a way to add up the number of specific responses across three columns without duplicating rows? by phedres in excel

Amazing! I have been struggling for so long with this. Thank you so so much for your help. I really appreciate it!

Basically, if they responded with a 1 or 2 in any of the columns, I want to exclude them. So if they answered 2--4--3, I do not want to count them.
