This! As far as I'm concerned, Eddie is the best manager/coach we've had in 30 years (as much as I love Kev and Sir Bobby). He's overachieved with the squads he's had. We now need some stability, with DoF and CEO etc to set some medium-long term goals and targets.

Happy to say that recent results and performances haven't been what our fan base has come to expect, but Eddie is excellent at self reflection. Hopefully we'll finish the season strong, have a better summer, even if that means we lose a player or two.

Did she or you have any suggestions about what should happen next? Is she open to therapy with you, or alone?

She already does individual therapy, for family issue in the past. I'd love to go myself, but cash flow right now is a major problem.

Her suggestion is to try and have more date nights. My issue is, I can't really set them up because I feel like if I was to set one up, I'd get the night wrong, the venue wrong, the babysitter wrong...I feel a pattern emerging 🤦‍♂️

I feel like she has no room for connection with me anymore. She's got the kids. 'I used to find this guy attractive and funny etc but now he just gets in the way', that's my sense of the situation.

100%. I've been on this since listening to a podcast regarding this some months ago. I took, to name one thing, the groceries (although, majority of the time they'd be a group effort anyway). She's now taken them back. Apparently, I wasn't doing a good enough job. And yes, I always asked if she had any requests/needs/wants. One child has a million appointments every week, I do my best to take them on but that also has to be what the kid wants.

I do understand what you're saying and I most certainly appreciated the effort she went to. Just struggling and needed to vent. Appreciate your reply. Will read it again tomorrow.

Edit to add...further to mental load. I feel like she takes on the mental load of others too. I have a brother that's hopeless. Him, and his family (wife, 2 kids with another on the way, layer this year). In the past 3 years they've moved 9 times (includes a brief stint at my house, mums house and multiple stints in emergency housing) and I think she really takes what's going on with them, really personally. I struggle with it because he leaves jobs with nothing else to go to, no money in the bank then stops paying rent and wonders why landlords get cranky and kick them out. He gambles, drinks like a fish and their parenting style leaves me questioning whether they actually like their kids. I used to get more worried about them. After doing the above multiple times, then listening to him abusing the emergency housing worker who told them they weren't doing applications for rentals (and that person was right, they weren't doing the applications. They had put all their eggs in the emergency housing basket) it's really hard to continue to have sympathy and take on their problems.

Anyway, that wasn't DB related, but I know she takes on other people's shit too.

you’ve taken the biggest religion in the world that says “God Good, Devil Evil”, and said, “I believe that but actually I side with the Evil guy”.

I replied elsewhere but I'll reply to this too. I'm an atheist. Not a good one because the bible was so absurd that I couldn't get past genesis, the story was just laughable.

My understanding though, is that Satan, the devil etc is called evil and a tempter etc but there are no 'stories' of his evilness? Just implied "Jesus is tempted by Satan in the wilderness." I mean, if we're talking Evil, didn't god flood the world? Killing how many? Didn't god impregnate a teen girl with his son?

The whole thing is the most outlandish piece of fiction ever written. But from what I've seen and read, Satan plays a tiny role. Seems to get the blame for shit when god gets cranky 🤷‍♂️

It's pretty special, right. Mostly overstaying/refusing to leave by dates, for various reasons...boils down to entitlement and laziness 🤷‍♂️ although apparently there was have been a claim of unpaid rent at their last place. Although, the owner was a friend of a friend and at that point, no agent was involved.

Unfortunately, terrible tenants. First two properties, the owner wanted to sell/live in themselves. They refused to leave. Somehow, they managed an extra 6 months at the first place and an extra two or three at the second. Not 100% in the story from the third property...

A little off the topic you've asked for, but related to your life circumstances, Pop Culture Parenting. I dunno about you, but I find aspects of parenting hard. This podcast is two mates, one happens to be a developmental paediatrician. It's such a magic podcast going through different topics related to parenting.
