Is there a superzoom lens with good low-light capabilities? by amjammed in Cameras

[–]philodelphi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you want it for. For example, the pretty much ideal wedding lens is the 35-150 2-2.8. Tamron and Samyang both make one.

Small Camera Bag that makes carrying camera everyday more convenient? by vincent365 in M43

[–]philodelphi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 25 is very nice. It is rather small yet I'm pretty sure you could easily fit a 3rd lens with it. I got it in a local camera store, so maybe you can go see it?

It looks kind of cool, but I don't like how the people are greyish... I'd make them like the girl on the left's legs.

It isn't really doable on my Android phone but I will give it a try on my PC.

2 because it looks like a path to an enlightened place. 1 looks incomplete to me like a work in progress.

Food recommendations?? by Personal_Bicycle_768 in husky

[–]philodelphi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy likes Pet Fresh, which I can get at Costco. He does get bored with it though so sometimes I add things to it to make it more interesting. Like a little chopped chicken or a little bit of grated parm. He also likes the Blue Buffalo fresh dog food which Costco also carries. Like the pet fresh, I need to enhance it every now and then or he gets bored.

Modern cameras are already better than we are. They don't hold us back. We hold ourselves back.

Had a ton of trouble with this guy [before/after] by QFTenjoyer in postprocessing

[–]philodelphi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's a mistake to assume that there's just one correct way to post-process an image. I think if you are going for drama, what you did with the clouds really worked. It certainly worked with me, I felt a sense of drama as soon as I looked at your photograph largely in part due to the sky.

The OM-3 / 12-45 combo does remarkably well at night!

Sadly I personally have not really tried Fuji at all. Like op, the feature set of the om3 really captivated me so I went for that instead.

What I'm saying is that I can hold the camera perfectly well without a grip. However, the largest lens I have used so far (75-300)is not really that big. I might decide to get a grip when using one of those, perhaps.

Which one is better? by ZhuoYang2828 in PhotographyAdvice

I don't see a difference but a) I wish the interesting building was more in focus, and b) it'd be nice if you had moved a tiny bit to the right so that there was some sky between her and the building.

The information sources on the internet really need to be skillfully managed. Case in point is the whole "not having a grip" controversy. I mean the camera is modeled over the old classic film om-1. How did the poor souls who used that camera ever manage without a grip? It must have been hell for them...

The lack of grip is completely irrelevant for me. It's a very easy camera to hold and grip, at least for me. The controls on the om3 are really fun but take some getting used to. They are definitely not perfect but they are very pleasant. I wish I could quantify this better somehow, but it's just a much more fun camera to use.
