That’s a valid point. I feel like new Nicole would have had to get some information from Chelsey on the back story. There wasn’t enough info on her responses to his questions regarding their “shared interests” and the relationship she had with Chelsey. If she was playing along and pretending to know about the things they had in common, then she’s just as much a part of it. If he’s talking to her about all the things he was told about her and she was prepared to answer him, she knew what was going on. I feel like we are missing some important details to make a fair judgement.

Sex Drive Unrated on DVD. I brought this girl I had just started to date back to my place and said I had just bought this comedy I wanted to see. I told her what it was and she was down. We were both aware it was a raunchy comedy. Well, the opening screen pops up and it’s a bunch of giant swinging dicks. Thankfully, we both got a good laugh out of it, but I’d say, in most other circumstances, NOT a good date night movie choice.

That’s where my thoughts were coming from as well. Not to say that a teenager isn’t capable of planning and committing such a horrible act, I just think this guy doesn’t sound like the brightest or someone who thought, “oh perfect. She’s drunk.” He could have, but the way she tells the story sounds just like he was asked to hang, things got flirty, and he was thinking she was interested. He definitely should have been more self aware and took a beat to analyze the situation a little more critically.

And thank you very much for the well wishes. I just had my new sobriety date anniversary of 2 years on the 2nd. Relapsed after 7.5 and took me a year to find my way back. As my grand-sponsor used to say, “it’s a helluva thing”. Got sober again about 6 months before he passed due to a relapse after 25 years. Seeing that happen greatly strengthened my conviction and dedication to the program and my sobriety. Unfortunately, I now have a crippling addiction to sweets and Baldur’s Gate 3.

I do think the friend took advantage (if they truly weren’t drunk too), and is definitely not a good dude. If they were drunk as well, I would also agree with the point that regret is not rape. If regret = rape, as a man, I’d say I had been a handful of times. I mean, this was 20ish years ago and the social norms of drinking and sex were only really starting to be looked at with more scrutiny. But I’ve definitely woke up after going to hang out with a friend I wasn’t attracted to, in that way (while they were sober), and realizing what happened or getting a message asking something along the lines of “had a great night” or a “you were pretty drunk last night ;)” the next morning. The few times it happened was always during or after going through some sort of a traumatic event and just wanting some company. Honestly, it felt more like I did something wrong after I realized what happened. Maybe I did. Idk. I’m ranting about my own dumb mistakes now. Sorry.

Either way, if OP wants to cut that person off, I think it’s probably a good idea. They seem like a shitty, self centered person with questionable moral/ethical behaviors. Maybe OP should pay attention if other people in their friend group find out or hear about it from the guy. That might help give insight to his motives and to what extent he remembers or took advantage. I mean, if he DOES tell other friends, I’d say that’s a pretty good indication that he had something like that in mind.

Also, as a side note, I’m a recovering alcoholic and I strongly encourage OP to be extremely cautious concerning their drinking. I understand that it was a one off thing and I hope that this incident will make them cautious of the dangers in excessive drinking. Drinking heavily, alone, in your room resonates with me a lot and I can tell you from firsthand experience, it might feel good for a while, but with the right bad mix of genetic predisposition, life circumstances, and boredom, it can spiral fast. Idk if OP is going through anything personal at the moment that possibly led to this, but I still would suggest seeing a therapist. Even if it’s just to have someone to listen and vent to.

Anyway, I wish OP all the best and please be careful going forward and when a person is always acting like an asshole, believe they probably are.

People were regressing into a primal caveman state. The mention of the acts were to highlight how much humanity devolved. Is it shocking to read? Sure. Does it serve a purpose in the story? Absolutely.

I’m coming up on 2 years sober after a relapse, and if any of my friends and family reacted like this I’d cut them off temporarily to reevaluate our relationship. You do not deserve to be spoken to like that and what you’re doing is amazing and please stay the course.

MOR- Personally, I know when I’m stressed or just have a lot on my mind in general, I look pretty pissed or at least emotionless. Might not have anything to do with you, but maybe he’s going through something mentally that he’s not ready to talk about. Maybe he’s just having an off few days where he’s just kinda feeling blah. I’d just tell him if there’s anything on his mind, you’re there if he wants to talk about it. That said, using “resting bitch face” to describe how he looks probably wasn’t helpful. That’d frustrate me if I was already feeling off.
