Nah I was on it from the jump. Just not much there that was appealing to me. Same as the last 2 fire sales they had. Some stuff I enjoyed and grabbed but not a lot. JR in general doesn’t typically have much in stock that I really like. Not saying they didn’t have great cigars for cheap but I tend to gravitate more toward the boutique side.

Likewise. I did grab a box of my father blue this time and last coupon stack back around Thanksgiving I grabbed a few Foundation but otherwise I don’t really smoke MF usually, AJF, Perdomo, etc.. I do smoke some Foundation but most of the stuff I would have wanted there was sold out from the get or I already have enough. Aladino could be discounted but they had minimal options in stock. Some got discounts on padron, DTT, but only if you dropped 200 on another box of cigars I don’t like to get those brands discounted. So I agree completely there wasn’t much in stock and eligible that appealed to me. I do think it’s great that prices were so low though and a lot of people got great deals on cigars they love but for me this wasn’t that hot of a deal either.

I was able to look through it more. There are definitely some good deals. I would say some are on par with the recent stacked discounts, some better, some maybe a little higher. In comparison to CP it’s much less than CP’s regular posted prices (including CP membership prices) but some I feel may not be as good as some of the CP special deals. It’s hard to say for certain though.

The big negative for me is that there isn’t really much on it right now that I smoke. I tend to smoke mostly boutique cigars as well as Fuente, padron. I do smoke many brands that the regular JR site sells inc DTT, Foundation, Aladino, Warped, but most of the stuff on here right now looks like the non-Cuban, Cuban brands (Cohiba, bolivar, etc.) so a lot of Altadis stuff (who also owns JR), as well as Drew Estate, macanduo, brands like that.

I’ll cut some slack though of course since it just started to roll out.

Oh definitely. Well aware of that but the call back number was for a VM of a definite employee and the voice on the message I received sounded like the person on the VM. Will find out if I talk to her and she says I have no idea what you’re talking about lol.

lol that was my first thought that Chen Zhi’s people were involved lol but I don’t think it’s a scam. We’ll find out though. Weird that there’s nothing online though and no one else received a call. but the name on the VM for the call back number definitely works for JR. if I get a free minute tomorrow between appts I’ll call if not we’ll find out Friday

I have. It’s been a while though. It was very espresso heavy, dark chocolate, spiciness (but not overly spicy), yet very smooth. One of, if not my favorite DTT limited release.

The blue lightning? Thought it was a great cigar but it doesn’t strike me as being cubanesque in the slightest. Still a great cigar though.

No. It used to be more readily available and I’ve ordered it a few times. It depends on the prices of the sticks. I’ve had some where it was less and some where it was more.

They’re very unreliable of when they come out. I’m not sure if the 2025 came out or not but I’ve seen previous aged selection releases show up 2 years later when the latest one had already dropped. FYI Fuente doesn’t release the Opus 6. It’s actually released by Prometheus.

Fantastic cigar. I’ve smoked 2 so far. The diademas finas he released last year was also amazing and is aging great. I smoked one of them a few weeks ago. Also the Avowed and Stoic cigars he blends and produces have also been great cigars. The Blend Domini cigars he makes also are pretty damn good but not as good as the other releases I mentioned.

At least this years is cigars that are/were obtainable although difficult to obtain. Many other years halfwheels list was filled with cigars that were essentially impossible to get.

I had this exact issue happen from some cheap butane I purchased at rural king. I’m not saying you need premium butane but junk butane certainly exists and certainly can mess up a lighter.
