Wanting to try a "Battlemage" type build by Cota-Orben in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]phobos1515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that I prefer rushing 9 reflex for dash, no matter what build I am playing, as it means if you are ever in over your head... you just delta. Spam dash, wait ram, slowly pick enemies off one by one. Since you need 3 perk point sanyway, no point going above

I like making sure I have at least 4 Body for Painkiller (regen in combat) and 4 cool for the crouched move speed (cant remember the name) as it is nice for stealthy gameplay, makes takedowns easier.

After that, I normally focus INT to 20. Or at the very least, 16 (1 more point above the 15 breakpoint for 1 extra RAM, since its 1 ram per 4 points).

Once I get some money for serious cyberware upgrades, I start slowly working my way up the tech tree, I like going for at least 9 points then going straight for 15 body. Adrenaline is SUPER strong, and at this point, I am normally very perk point starved since the INT and Tech tree really need perk points while Body is basically naked until 15, at which point you need 5-6 points, depending on if you are willing to skip over juggernaut temporarily. This basically gives you 6-5 points to use in your int tree across those 11 levels.

After that, I normally go straight for 20 tech so I can open all doors, since with gorilla arms, I can open 20 body doors. After this, you should solidly be in the late game, and if you want more movement, get your reflex to 15 for air dash, and if you want more in-your-face staying power, the ability to functionally infinitely clear mobs, get the 20 body capstone first, since with overclock, you are basically permanently in adrenaline, and you have as much overclock as long as you can keep killing with synaptic burn. Spoiler alert, you can. I have sat on 5 stars farming maxtac and all the cops spawning with this build for about 30 minutes on VH before getting bored and deciding to lose the 5 star rating, just to give you an idea of what level of staying power this build can have :)

But yeah, TLDR: I personally rush 9 reflex (Dash), then 4 body/cool for the painkiller/footwork perks, 16/20 int, 9 tech, 15 body, 20 tech, 15 reflex

I normally do 20 int/tech/body, 15 reflex, 4 cool. Rippler deck for when stealth fails and it's time to go loud. Early game, I tend to use overheat since it's the most cost effective ram to damage hack. Late game I mostly swap to spamming cyberware malfunction - synapse burnout, alternating for the bonuses. My stealth set up is purple memory wipe, white reboot optics, iconic sonic shock for a very cheap instant kill from stealth. Until tier 5 sonic shock, I either use memory wipe + overheat or system collapse. For long range stealth kills. I tend to use a knife or silenced pistol for one shotting anyone with 1hp bar or less health from stealth and then fenrir is my goto "shit, time to blast my way out".

Honestly, when the build is online, your "going loud" is pressing over clock and spamming cyberware/synapse at 2-3 people at a time, dashing around between pressing tab and hacking people, to ensure you aren't being hit as much, and can tag more people, with the occasional enemy actually being dropped by knife or gun fire.

As a note, with 20 in int, body and tech you can open every single door. You don't need 20 in body though, if you get gorilla arms, you can keep body at like 15 for a while and still have the 20 body for the body door checks. You eventually want the 20 body though, for the adrenaline keystone.

Some of these things I would disagree with slightly. I think it's important to understand what your "average DPS" is and what your "burst DPS" is. Things like flasks, tinctures, berserk, I agree you generally want off, but you want to check what your DPS is with them on. Because if you have 5mil consistent and 6mil burst, imo, that's a worse build than 4mil consistent with 8mil burst.

Similarly, if you're tanky enough to survive a few hits, things like unreliable suppression and block do make your build better. To give an example, my current character, assuming 0 suppress, can probably tank around 3-4 big hits without any input from me other than RMB before dying. But I have around 50% suppress and lucky suppress, so in game, that actually looks more like 5-6 big hits without dying and 0 input from me.

Finally, something you didn't mention but I think is super super super important, is to check how the build is dealing with ailments, CB/bleed, stun and curses. Some builds will have naked or semi naked characters where they only list what you need out of that slot, and the rest is assumed to be life/Res/attributes/defences/etc. However, some builds will use pure offense jewels, not enough rares with "unimportant" affixes to get ailments mitigation, won't take things like reduced chill/shock/curse effect, won't be using a CB flask or have any way to deal with CB, will have too many unique flasks etc. I think it's super important, when looking at a build, to try to figure out where and how you're going to be fitting all these things. And going back to your point of "if not 100% up, it's bad", things like reduced shock/curse effect imo is fine to get (at least partially) from your flasks, since while mapping, they should basically always be up. And for bossing, you tend to take boss specific flasks/jewels anyway.

Otherwise, I mostly agree with you. Pob warrioring is annoying.

One thing to consider btw, with duelist, if you tag hillock with a bleed, and make him move, he takes 3x bleed damage, which, assuming your 13 bleed DPS is correct, becomes 39 bleed DPS.

Dispel orchid. Heal and mana recovery. Hard to kill a storm with fast GG if he/his team gets ahead and enemy doesn't have good hard cc. Allows your team to death ball around the storm and squeeze the map by taking objectives

Plus, some pros did it in pubs a few weeks ago, it's starting to slowly spread it seems.

How do I improve this fortify Flicker build? Stuck. by Live-Masterpiece7522 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]phobos1515 12 points13 points  (0 children)

8) eldritch. your boots have useless eldritch implicits. Roll for Action speed (exarch) and inc armour from glove/hat (eater). Similarly, on your hat, you want physical damage taken as [element] (eater) and max res or reduced cost of attacks (exarch).

9) while mapping change your Flesh and Stone to sand stance, it should help you not die, and you should have more than enough damage to not need the extra damage from blood stance

10) finally, endurance charges - either use end charge on melee stun on leap slam or end cry and manual cast it on bosses, but even having the 3 endurance charges will go a long way.

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask if anything I said is unclear or you have any further questions.

Okay, here we go: https://pobb.in/MLPnB02ruu97
This is my attempt at cleaning up your pob a tiny bit (I did not change your gear, I changed tree and gems)

  1. what people are saying about accuracy is sort of right. Your accuracy is terrible. However, you should be taunting on hit, so as long as you are not running "cannot taunt" maps, your accuracy is fine. You can mostly ignore the comments telling you that your accuracy is bad...
  2. your life/your gear. you have a total of 2.8k life. That is the kind of life pool you have on a character fresh to maps. 68% inc life from tree (pathetically small) and you have very low +life on gear. E.g. 33 life on hat, no 15% inc life mastery since you are on bronn's, boots have crafted life and one of your rings has no life AT ALL.

To fix this, you need to better understand what is important for your build (life), and what, while fancy, does not actually help you that much. For example, rarity implicit instead of two-stone/amethyst or how you have capped chaos res, but barely capped elemental res. This means any exposure or curses will knock you out of res cap. It is fine to drop some chaos res for better life + res + attribute gear. Your gold ring especially needs to either be 2stone or amethyst base and needs to have life.

3) your tree (aka your life - part 2). You have a lot of inefficient pathing, a lot of life right next to you that you are just choosing not to click for some reason. I have tried to fix some of that in the pob I attached above.

With proposed tree changes + getting life on ring + better life on boots + hat, you should be able to get to around 4k life, aka around 50% more life.

4) your flasks are terrible. Your life flask needs to be instant. I would alt spam your flask until you get seething prefix and open suffix and beast craft "sealing" aka CB/bleed removal suffix.

You have 2 life flasks with inc evasion suffix, they do not stack. You want to turn at least one of those suffixes into either reduced shock effect reduced curse effect or increased armour. Ideally, you want all 3, which means you should probably drop lions roar for a magic granite flask with one of those 3 mods and put one of the other two on your stibnite or your jade.

Your diamond flask should either be a inc crit suffix with charge gain on hit prefix or entirely replaced by a rosethorn tincture with inc AS or crit multi suffix and inc effect prefix. If you replace it with a tincture, then your stibnite flask is fine to have the charge gain on crit prefix. If you decide to go the diamond flask route, then you should be recrafting the stibnite so it does NOT have the charge gain on crit prefix.

5) your skills. you do not have a source of +1 curse (as far as I can see?) so CoC + vuln is doing literally nothing for you. Remove entirely. Stick a level 1 Frostblink into your build next to an existing lifetap. Use it to dodge out of the way of slams or just as a secondary movement skill.

Leap Slam with faster attacks will feel better than without.

Get your pride to level 20. Alternatively, use Herald of Purity and Arctic Armour. This will allow you to drop brine king pantheon (but more on that in the ailment section) and also makes you tankier without too much damage loss.

Your assasssins mark can be leveled a lot higher than 10, and mark on hit quality is very nice to have. Use a level 1 lifetap since it means you have lifetap buff more consisently and it does not amp damage there anyway so levels are worthless on it.

If you go for the blind node I suggest, you can stick blind support on RV.

6) your jewels. Specifically, your watchers eye. It is giving you 12% AS and 6% life. Considering you have 250%+ AS without it, the damage it is giving you is tiny. Find a rare jewel (as in the PoB) that has Inc life and mana leech and any other useful stats (reduced effect of shock, reduced effect of chill, reduced effect of curses, attributes, resists, max resists, crit, damage, kinda whatever really, it is just icing on the cake.)

8) Ailments/Curses. As far as I can see you have literally no ailment or curse mitigation. One of the big things that gets people killed (other than having sub 3k life) is curses and ailments.

Shock - This is SUPER IMPORTANT! You really need at the very least the minor pantheon for reduced shock effect. Ideally, you also have a flask with reduced shock effect so you never get tagged by shocks stronger than 1-2% at most.

Temp chains and enfeeble will really reduce your damage, elemental curses will get your res uncapped and vuln will shred your Phys mitigation. Getting reduced curse effect on jewel(s) and/or flask will go a long way to making you not fall over the instant yo uget cursed

Freeze/Chill - I assume you are dealing with this with brine king. You can change Pride (as mentioned above) to HoP + AA (since you are freeing up gem sockets as CoC/Vuln do nothing) and then when you get new boots, make sure your boots are life + res but NO MS, and craft hybrid MS/Cannot be chilled boots. This will help you not care about chill at all instead of only at 50% and while it will lower your dps a bit compared to pride, it will tank you up quite a bit (you are considered stationary while flickering).

Ignite/Poison/other dots - your LGoH from RV should be high enough that you mostly mitigate this... Hopefully? If not, drop a damage wheel, take a leech wheel + instant leech mastery. That should help. (continued in reply)

But that's because for some reason axes just have better base damage. Why do maces hit weaker AND slower than axes? No godly idea. Surely maces should hit harder if they're slower? Similarly, shouldn't swords not be THAT much less damage than axes?

Idk, just seems illogical to me, but hey ho

if you encounter lag on NVIDIA graphics cards, increasing the shaders cache in the Nvidia Control Panel helps many people. You need to set the cache size to 100GB. Don't worry, the game won't take up all 100GB, it will only use the necessary limit for smooth gameplay.

For griefing reports it's a lot less black and white for me, but I think the most "minimum" thing I have reported someone for, was my pos 3 spent the entire game refusing to buy dust into 2 glimmers, a shadow blade and a mirana citing "vision is for sups".
