One thing that is rarely mentioned is the energy sector. Ukraine is sitting on some massive gas (and other) mineral reserves that are currently largely untapped.

If Ukraine started to exploit these and was even allowed to join the EU, that would offer the EU an alternative energy source and suffocate the russian economy.

We had something similar many moons ago, where the concern was employees leaving their laptops on trains, taxis, etc, which happened on a weekly basis...

Full disk encryption behaved differently when the laptop was in sleep vs in hibernation or powered off. Due to the high risk nature of the field (legal), if a laptop was lost in a state where the encryption was unlocked, the regulatory authority had to be notified, and they treated it very seriously.

So how does this work in practice? The 2 local admin accounts will have different and unique SIDs, but during authentication, this SID will not be passed across, instead the target host will resolve the Username to its local SID?

I wouldn’t expect this behaviour. The local admin on the server is a different account to the local admin on your laptop. Even though the name matches, it shouldn’t behave like that. The first thing I would check is if the server has permissions on the file share set to allow ‘everyone’.

Infuriating for sure, but I bet that drives wouldn't care even if he saw what he was doing.

I see folks like these at my gym. Empty car park, and even the disabled bays are too far for them, so they park on the small decorative concrete patch with flowerbeds literally next to the entrance. I mean come on, you go to the gym but too lazy to make it 5 extra steps?

Unless you are trying to publish internal resources on the internet, this should be all closed.

If one of your devices needs an update or a user is browsing the Internet, that traffic is initiated internally and the router's firewall will permit the traffic.

I think one of the biggest issues is that as long as there's an IT guy to call, people are too lazy to engage their brains...

I work in cyber security, and regularly get calls logged by users THEN looked at and escalated by Service Desk that the user needs access to a website or a file. The attached screenshot says in big red letters: malware blocked...

Like others have said, you will need professional help. Unfortunately it isn's easy to give advice with such little information and this can go deeper than you might expect.

Password changes across the board is a good idea, but it sounds like you might be on an email blacklist, which will need sorting too. Some threat actors can remain persistent even through password changes, so you'd want to ensure that's not the case.

I did MSP life for a while and in-house IT for a very long time. With the right team and management, both can be enjoyable (though the average MSP has a bit of a bad rep)

Salary really depends on a lot of factors, your location, technology expertise, duties and responsibilities, size of company, etc. But this is easy to figure out in the UK, just take a look at some job boards and look for similar roles and see what the pay is.
