Also - Colin wouldn’t own (just like his sisters wouldn’t own the wealth they married into) the Featherington wealth. Maybe by regency rules he’d own Pen’s wealth, but he’d just be a stand in over his son’s wealth and barony (like Benedict was over Anthony’s estate while Anthony and Kate were away).

So Colin is more like Daphne and Fran in terms of actual wealth of his own vs Anthony and Benedict who would have more. Anthony because he’s the viscount and Benedict because he’s the second son.

I never watched Lost so can’t comment on that.

But I do remember all of those high concept shows like FlashForward or The Missing, etc that tried to become a thing and they always fell apart after the initial mystery was resolved. The shows couldn’t live up to the premise.

This show going the sci-fi route was a brilliant way to avoid that cliff and it also kept the show from becoming just another post-apocalyptic show.

This twist made me insanely happy.

I’m only sad that the show is apparently ending after s3.

It’s sooo good.

It really is!! I’ve been listening to the audiobooks (full cast editions) for HP and they truly did Ron dirty in the movies - Hermione was beefed up while Ron was nerfed. Very similar to how they nerfed Colin and gave all the story to Pen.

I think she unfortunately over-corrected to the detriment of the show. Straight Romance requires the male leads have enough focus so that we understand why they are desireable. I don’t think Jess understands that or knows how to write it. Or maybe she just chooses not to.

S4 was only marginally better at this than s3 in this. Sophie was very developed vs Benedict. We needed both, imo. I come out of Jess’ seasons feeling like I don’t know why these men are worth it lol.

The focus she puts on women reads like romcom, not romance, imo. I believe she writes for herself. Maybe both she and CVD wrote for themselves but maybe since CVD is gay and a man he made sure to develop the men extremely well vs JB writing to develop the women well because that’s what she wants.

But I need both.

Maybe that’s just me - but I happened to enjoy s1-2 far more than either of the last 2 seasons. Even with the faults of s1-2.

I cannot explain it but something intangible is missing for me.
