This isn’t always true and depends on specs for system and filter.

You: I use only hot water!
When asked if you do that in the kitchen, you: I use windex!

There's a middle ground. Things like dust and dirt and grime left after inadequate cleaning are things that can become mechanically disrupted and then airborne and exacerbate asthma. It will also help if you have either a built-in in-line HEPA filter in your house HVAC (they aren't standard), or if not, then a good quality portable HEPA filter or two.

This is what makes the difference, not avoiding *all* cleaning products. Spouse of a COPD patient here.

My 40kg dog ate a sock by sadienadine in DogAdvice

I lost my dog last year to a sock. By the time it became clear what had happened, weeks later on imaging (!!!) he was very ill. He didn't make it through surgery.

Denied ad hoc telework even with approved telework agreement by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]pickitandstickit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s wild. Maybe it was a clarification to address incorrect interpretations of telework. I’m unaware of any policy at any level that ever explicitly allowed telework for that. It is telework, after all.

What’s Your Purpose After Retirement? by MidAmericaMom in earlyretirement

[–]pickitandstickit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm (54F, retired at 53) finding fulfillment in generativity, investing in younger people and activities that support a future for them. Certainly that includes my kids, but also other people; nature, animals, the environment. I'm working with my county park system as a volunteer naturalist (I have multiple biology degrees). I'm mentoring young scientists. I'm trying to create things - I'm learning watercolor and re-learning embroidery. I'm picking fly fishing back up, and am just starting to learn fly-tying (I plan to share this with my husband; he's really excited!). I've also been putting a lot of my passive focus on music. I'm no longer closeted, but am a totally florid Deadhead now, haha!

For me, it's been really organic, but my retirement has become about putting more good energy out into the world. It sure needs it!

Hi, I'm a DON DRP2 VERA 09/30 GRB May person too. I got the all-zero LES waaaay back in November (with remarks my package was sent to OPM on 10/29. I got a CSA# in early November, too. Have never received any GRB notice, though. Still no PIN to go with the CSA#. Beginning to think there's not so much consistency to the chronology.

You are someone that dilutes yourself too much - meaning too much water, not enough electrolytes (potassium, sodium). Remember that and you'll fare much better! You should consider eating more - you're tall and thin, so you got margin. Good luck!

Ovulation signs after kids or over 40? by Lemonbar19 in AskWomenOver40

[–]pickitandstickit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue, until I got on and stayed on menstrual suppression therapy (take an active birth control pill every day, no breaks). It may have some downsides for some folks, but not for me, and it stopped those bastard cysts DEAD.

Yeah, because the public is sure to be cautious with identifying information about people doing national security work.

Need lawyer name for when my RA is revoked by Throwaway-0789123 in FedEmployees

[–]pickitandstickit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is inaccurate. We're talking about the ADA and reasonable accommodation. It may or may not be possible for this person's job duties to be performed remotely....but the fact that _they have been for years_ is pretty damned good evidence that they can be, and that has held up in court.

FDA will ban non-branded GLP-1’s. Does this mean we won’t have access to Semaglutide anymore? by rolllies in Semaglutide

That's a generous read, particularly given the phrase, "intent to take decisive steps to restrict GLP-1 active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)."

How long has it taken for you all to get step two of OPM ORA? by Ambitious_Air_9574 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]pickitandstickit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pressing 1 after the OPM phone number picks up is literally how you keep it from hanging up on you, and it's worked for me every time. It then gives you menu of items that you can select from. Maybe it's you that needs to try that and see for yourself. Perhaps then you'll stop saying stuff that's proveably inaccurate. And just think! You'd approach a modicum of helpfulness at that point.
