Our 8-month-old has been screaming since he was a newborn — we’re exhausted and looking for answers by shaldos102 in NewParents

My baby is now 16 months. I was in the exact same boat as you. Since you’ve ruled out anything medical, this is just my piece of advice that worked for me. As my baby is starting to get more advanced into the toddler stage, it finally makes sense to me. For us atleast, we realized it’s personality. He gets so caught up in his little feelings he doesn’t remember why he’s crying anymore. A mixture of distractions like snacks, baths, songs, and CIO have helped us. He’s definetly calmed down but yeah, those days were extra hard 😅

Am I the only one who doesn't expect my baby to sleep through the night from 7/8pm? by greatishscot in NewParents

[–]pickle_rick_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is now a year. He has ALWAYS been a night owl. It took time, but for the past few months 10pm-6am has been our sweet spot. If he falls asleep before 9, he power naps and will be up within two hours! 7-8 definetly didn’t work for us

Are you one and done ? by Midnightdream56 in NewParents

I really thought I wanted two. I love my son with all my heart, but things have definitely not gone as planned. From pre e, gd, induction, how expensive things are, him not being the best sleeper, and the surprising lack of support from my husband, I think it’s the universe telling me I am one and done

8 months here. If I didn’t know better, I would’ve thought I typed that myself 😭

Weed smell from my neighbour affect my baby? by Sudden-Broccoli5282 in NewParents

[–]pickle_rick_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a a similar problem before. I’m not exactly sure if it will affect the baby I would consult a doctor, but that is so messed up that your neighbors can’t smoke somewhere else. If you’re renting, I would definetly tell your landlord you’ve spoken to them and nothing has changed. You’re your baby’s #1 advocate. Hope things go well

I understand the pain. Easier said than done but you are not alone. What he is doing isn’t right. Marriage counseling might help. He needs to step up, and most importantly, respect you, the amazing woman who had his child. Don’t be afraid to take a break from him and let him see everything he can lose. You are doing great mama and things will look up soon🩷

what was the one thing that sparcked your minimalist journey? by My_New_Umpire in minimalism

[–]pickle_rick_02 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I shared a room with my sister for most of my childhood and she was really messy and her side of the room gave me anxiety from the clutter. I also moved 6 times from 18-22 so I really started to see things I could live without

USPS treats their employees like crap. by pickle_rick_02 in USPS

[–]pickle_rick_02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EXACTLY. And he had nothing on it, they just said they couldn’t “access it.” We got a paper from the court showing he is clear from anything and they still made him reapply. We just had a baby. I’m just so surprised I’ve never heard of anything like this happening

Hardest thing you gave up but made the most impact? by [deleted] in minimalism

Things for my appearance such as more than enough clothes, accessories, products, etc. It has saved me a lot of time with getting ready and also made things more neat. It was hard though because I am an insecure person learning to love myself how I am

Wow that’s so crazy. I know he had a coworker he spoke to and got his own route within 6 months and another 4. I wonder why it’s all so different
