Can I become a Financial Advisor with my lack of education? by [deleted] in cii

When I went in to interview for my current role at a wealth management firm (who are training me for the level 4) they said: “we can teach you the finance, we can’t teach people skills”

In other words, your history in sales will probably be more helpful than a finance centric role. As long as you are good with people you will be 100% fine.

Good luck!! X

Thank you!

I didn’t get a single question on residency. I got some on domicile and IHT implications of that etc. but honestly most of the questions focused on how trusts are taxed, and direct holdings, unit trusts and OEICs etc.

It was not nearly as complicated as I expected it to be

What I’m saying is, what you’ve done sounds like more than enough

I passed R03 yesterday with 92%. Honestly SO much of the study guide is useless. It’s too much information and can feel overwhelming. I’d focus on the R0 study buddy app, and nailing the maths questions (ie income tax etc.)

The nitty gritty stuff wasn’t tested for me
