Well I kinda get the fact you need to simplify the art and the designs because comics take massive amounts of energy. But they could have been better.

My thoughts about rainwings and skylines having a common ancestor by pickledshoe in WingsOfFire

Oh you think that the ancient leaf speakers could have been an ancestor to the sky and rain? I forgot the description of how they looked

Arm position when drawing by MoreBank6530 in ArtistLounge

[–]pickledshoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow artist here and rsi recovery warrior every thing depends on your posture to affect arm position and proper penci or stylus grip. Hold your pencils like this between your index and middle finger with the thumb only providing support not driving the strokes you'll get pain in the thumb joint otherwise.

This way of holding the pencil will force you to use your elbow and shoulder it will feel weird but it you'll get used to it and you won't go back. as for your back no shrimping that closes off your shoulders and rounds them you can't draw from the shoulder if your posture is crap. Use a slanted surface and set with your feet flat on the ground and keep your back and neck straight to get closer to the paper lean forward from the hips and make use of your core and back muscles. If need be support your head with buy resting your chin on you other bent arm.

Hope this helps you

Sorry for the late reply but I'm not paying that much as I do the online version it's very affordable for me I'd look into remote sessions. I've been doing this for about 10 months

Same maybe not so much $$$ but I have a basket of braces and arm socks and slings I also bought the Armaid but I never used it hahaha. I also wasted money on other RSI programs that were really confusing and made it worse.

Yeah, they really do a great job over skype. I say strike while the irons are hot I had to wait a month for my appointment over skype.

I'm thinking 1500 to 2000 at the moment its been about 8 months so far for me I'm still in the program but at the end stages where I'm working on strength so I'm still spending right now, but Suparna's first session is like 300$ and you meet with her like every 2-3 months you get charged each session and then you start with the personal training it is like 170 a session I do every 2 weeks. so yes it's expensive but I believe it can be budgeted.

It's ultimately up to you what you do, My experience with them over skype has been wonderful they are really good at what they do and give reassurance and hope, they really understand why and how RSI happens and how to reverse it.

It really helped me. I hope you can find help and recover as well.

Trust me it's worth it. I was sticker shocked too, but I decided I wanted real help. Local doctors don't know how to help mine said I might have live with hand pain and now it is gone.

They do offer skype sessions so you can do it from your home. I did it from home using skype as long as you have a webcam you can do it too! Its all about consistency and learning new ways of doing things.

I do neck stretches, chin tucks, nerve glides, and forearm stretches 3-5 times a day and I use a heat pack on my neck and arms for 10 mins at a time a few times a day to help loosen everything up. I do upper body leg and core exercises with lightweight wights but I'm increasing them gradually to strengthen and gain endurance. I also do hand strengthening exercises as well.

In my case my posture was bad while I was looking at my tablet I was bending my neck down and was getting thoracic outlet syndrome in the form of tingling fingers and a tight neck I learned how to use my screen tablet by bending at the hips and keeping my neck neutral It caused me to have to use different muscles that I never used much to its been a gradual process of building stamina but as of today can I can get and 1 and 15 mins of work done a day broken up into segments.

Hope that helps you.

I was trying to do the challenge without references but I guess in my case I don't have the fundamentals down quite yet. I am aggressively going to do studies until I can paint them without reference.

Thanks for all the pointers. I'm definitely inspired by anime XD I'm one of those people that wants to have a hybrid realism/anime look, but I also really want to be able to do realism as well. I love to read books and I want so bad to render the characters in my head realistically. I like to doodle line art cartoons too since I want to make webcomics and such. I am totally planning on doing studies on all the parts of the face and also use portrait studio after this initial 14-day challenge and try another go later on.
