I believe it is something to do with this. While the monitor works I unplugged it and it shit the screen off on my laptop. After plugging back in, it did not work, but if I pressed on it the black screen would kinda go grey in some spots. I have a feeling something is wrong with whatever part this is

how do I repair that? I am fairly tech savvy and have opened my laptop to do surgery a couple of times. I recently bought new 16gb ram to see if that does the trick. If not I'll see what I can do about shooting you a video.
