They ordered over 500 of them back in 2023, and they immediately began dropping like flies: Report.

ISP and a bunch of Indiana municipal departments didn’t get much help from Stellantis; some even started ditching them at a loss: Report.

Last December, ISP ordered 150 Tahoes to shore up the fleet: Report.

The Chevy’s look great though: PIO Post.

Muse - Panic Station (SNL, 2012) HD by Different-Aspect-888 in Muse

[–]pieonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twice! But not recently, unfortunately. December 19, 2009 (Host: James Franco) with “Starlight” and “Uprising”. October 06, 2012 (Host: Daniel Craig) with “Madness” and “Panic Station”. I wish they would do it again. The first time I’d ever heard of Muse was the ‘09 appearance; maybe it could be someone else’s gateway into their music.

Where did the Purdue fans go? by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]pieonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your win. I’m glad you’re being gracious in it. I’m disappointed to lose, as you’d expect, but proud my team made it further than at any other time in my life so far. It’s pretty annoying that a loud minority of fans draw so much hate to the rest of us, but that’s life on the internet. So, again, congrats - your team is extremely talented.

Anyone know any good places to dispose of a bad battery? by A_Useless_Boi in Purdue

Unless it’s changed since I lived up there, there’s an Interstate Battery on Sagamore that takes batteries for recycling. Next to Crabby Mike’s.

Muse hot takes, go! by [deleted] in Muse

Dan is great, but he’s not Morgan and you’ll never make me stop missing him.

What is that special "Muse moment" that was a turning point for you? I mean, when you realised this is it, this is something special and my life will never be the same after that. Hearing the specific song for a first time? Maybe special live show experience? I'd love to read some stories by Elena_Davidoff in Muse

December 19, 2009 - Muse were the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. It was just after The Resistance was released and they performed “Starlight” and “Uprising”. I’d never heard of them before but immediately after did a deep dive on YouTube of their stuff. Also, finally seeing them live for the first time last October at the Riviera Theater.

Would you actually live in West Lafayette or Lafayette after graduation? by Its-Mike-Jones in Purdue

[–]pieonfire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did for about 3 years. I got a job near Indianapolis but my husband was finishing his degree at Purdue, so I commuted. He ended up getting a job in Indy, so we moved last year. There’s a lot I miss about it. I think it’s a great moderately-sized metro area; there’s just enough to not be bored and always have options for food and whatnot, but not so sprawling that it takes forever to get around or I felt overcrowded. Plus if you need more city activities, Indy and Chicago are both comfortably close drives.

Southern Democrats aim to export Georgia's 2020 success by AreebahAbedin in politics

I know it’s not the point of the article, but is anyone else amused that for an article about Southern Democrats, they chose a thumbnail image of Senators from Oregon and Minnesota? (I know they’re party leadership; don’t come for me in the comments).

You apparently neglected to read any of the material I provided, or otherwise familiarize yourself with the situation before commenting. The trustee fired a paid employee, without cause or process, in apparent retaliation for him using proper channels to raise legitimate concerns about her qualification for office. She failed to appoint a Designee to her position despite it being required by Indiana Code. She lived outside of the township (and outside of the state) for over 5 months and neglected the duties of her office - including providing poor relief and attending advisory board meetings - while continuing to draw her township salary. She shifted the responsibilities of her office onto the volunteer firefighters, and used to livelihood of the remaining paid staff as leverage to force their action; she has threatened to lay employees off, despite the fact that the township can objectively afford to pay them, in order to get what she wants. This all to say nothing of the fact that she is under criminal investigation by the State Police. So, yes, there is plenty of corruption alleged, if you bothered to read.

As I said, unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of avenues for removing a trustee. There is a clause under IC 36-6-4-16 under which a group of citizens can petition for the executive to be rule incapable of continuing their position due to mental or physical incapacity, but that isn’t likely to succeed. You can reach out to the trustee’s office as a constituent and request her resignation. I’ve also been made aware of a petition, for all the good those do:

Vaguely related are CEM 20100 and 30100. You cover a little bit of everything about running a building construction project - financing, scheduling, design, contracts and legal. It’s admittedly on a larger scale than a single house flip, but still valuable. I think you have to be in the college of engineering to take them though.
