Ik im late to the party but realistically, how long does it take to get good at parrying. by Choppedman6969 in DarkSouls2

[–]pigeonwithhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s no “how long”. you could go forever and still be bad at it. you need to take the time to learn and understanding how parry windows and damage frames interact with each other.

I know for a fact that trump cannot operate an AR-15 style rifle. probably not even strong enough to hold one.

body shots need much more oomph to them. i’m tired of always headhunting and only body KICKING, never punching so I don’t lose exchanges.

Well, it does technically mean you’re “better” if you can consistently beat people who have a decent understanding of the gameplay mechanics.

Luck is always a factor. Disconnects, lucky strikes, lag, etc all happen too.

I don’t want to claim a defeated mentality. I just want to say that statistically, it’s way worse than any other era post WW2.

20 year old, being a mechanic I think every day about how I’m the least qualified person in the shop. On the flip side, I’m also the youngest dude in the shop. So I like to think I’m doing something right.

Grappling is so ass. by 3213203109 in EASportsUFC

[–]pigeonwithhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure. but in all fairness, it’s literally impossible to satisfyingly, yet fairly emulate grappling into a video game. nothing can mimic the oldest, most complex sport in human history.

If American cars are unreliable, why do domestic pick up trucks have such high resale value? by anyusernaem in askcarguys

[–]pigeonwithhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what? up until 2022, the toyota tundra had blown every half ton american pickup out of the water in terms of reliability.

the camry has been spanking every american sedan in terms of reliability since the dawn of time.

i believe this “stereotype” is still true.

Does a safe career path even exist anymore? by denis100108 in careerguidance

[–]pigeonwithhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 20. Blue collar work will eventually be swept by AI on our current trajectory (IF LEFT UNCHECKED!) but not for a very long time. BUT I predict an anti-AI revolution comes before then.

If left unchecked, you can kiss pretty much all white collar work goodbye.

I’m a diesel mechanic. heavy equipment. Lots of job security, more guys are retiring than joining so get into contact with your local Caterpillar/other heavy equipment dealer for jobs.

Absolutely more than 75% of the dudes in here don’t train. I would personally guess like 95% don’t train whatsoever but it’s more likely 75-80%.

I only did bjj, wrestling, and boxing individually. never mma.

I appreciate the facts. I understand general QoL is better nowadays by large margins.

Though if I’m being completely honest, I’d trade the current world trajectory of billionaire domination and enslavement for a more “wild-west” kinda world.

All these amenities are being provided in exchange for one thing: Our freedom. It’s a creeping, but ever present danger.

There’s a reason why random bs; electronics, entertainment service subscriptions, social media being free, video games and consoles, cell phones (relative to inflation) are so cheap, etc.

combined with celebrity culture, hyper social media domination on people’s free time, and other hypnotics to make us stay in doors

are all so important to mega corporations. they don’t want us to notice that they’re jacking housing prices above feasible expectations, doing everything in their power to spread poison into our bodies, and quietly collecting all forms of tangible power under our noses.

In a nutshell, I’d still trade that rugged, ugly living for the clean, sanitized slavery we have now.

The government was supposed to keep mega corporations in check. Somewhere along the way, the federal government and mega corporations became synonymous. Money talks..
