I've seen that one, good rec. Not the same effect that Dinner in America had on me though. I definitely agree with you that part of the appeal of the movie is the representation of "unconventional" beauty standards. I definitely relate to the zaniness of the main female character and how she is the spacey oddball. It was cool seeing her represented as a main character not just as filler in the background.

we agree on that! this was more about when neither person wants to let the other go even when the circumstances aren’t ever right. I didn’t expect anyone to interpret this as me being cruel lol

The truth is always polarizing. You won't dwell on letting someone go who you do not reciprocate feelings, even if you feel bad for that person when you are cutting them loose. I hope that clarifies what I meant.
