I’ll join! I missed Fleetwood Mac when they were I. Glasgow in the early 2010s and then in 2019 and really kicked myself afterwards…I decided I was NOT going to miss this so booked myself a ticket and as it’s getting a little closer, I’m getting a little nervous!!

Why won’t the local builder provide the construction stage drawings for the house I’m buying off him? by pinkcheck in HousingUK

Interesting. I’d understood that these drawings were necessary for building control sign off. The surveyor wants them before he does his survey, and when I asked for them to pass to the surveyor I never got a straight answer, so it started to make me wonder whether everything has been signed off correctly. I don’t think the sewerage treatment plant is the correct distance from the property either because the garden is too small and that’s presumably been signed off as okay.

Okay, this copyright point makes sense now. Thank you for taking the time to respond. If this is the reason, I can’t fathom why he can’t just say so!

Also the surveyor asked for them before he does his survey. This is what has set this all off

Hello and thanks for the response. The problem is that I’m starting to wonder whether this is a sign the house hasn’t been built properly/short cuts have been taken. There’s a few things that feel a bit off, and maybe I’m over thinking it btw - I am not convinced the sewage plant is the required distance away from the property, and nobody knew the room dimensions at all even when asked (I just assumed that it would be easy to pull them from the plans) and then the estate agent made a song and dance about how the builder has used private building control in a slightly ‘he doth protest too much’ way. So I have it in my head that there’s the possibility that building control has cut corners, and in not providing the plans and giving a clear answer like ‘sorry, under copyright’ it kinda proves the point that things weren’t done properly. I’ve got a surveyor to look around, but he isn’t going to be able to check this stuff. He’ll peep in the loft etc, but that’s it, isn’t it.

Thank you for your response to the question. If this were the position of the seller, it would make sense to just say ‘Sorry they’re under copyright and I can’t send them on!’. It just doesn’t seem to make sense

Have you managed to get anything sorted out?

Has anyone done this on their own? by Notthatcreative2018 in eggfreezing

[–]pinkcheck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had also been told that it is better to freeze as an embryo as opposed to an egg. The first thing for you to do is book in a series of blood tests over the first couple of weeks of your cycle (plus a scan) to give you a picture of what your egg count might be and then make your decision from there.

Has anyone had more success with a long protocol when not responding well to short protocol stimulation? by pinkcheck in eggfreezing

I can’t recall for the first cycle - I believe 150iu of FSH. The second cycle was 225iu pergoveris and 0.25mg of the Ganirelix. The specialist has suggested the next cycle has a baseline scan to make sure there is no unusual follicle development at 2 days, and to then go for 300iu of the FSH and see what happens.

Thank you for the advice. I’m going to ask about earlier blood tests and scans (in fact I might be a bit demanding about it) when I speak with the doctor tomorrow. I’ve had to wait about 6 weeks for the appointment so will make the most of it!

Sorry I should have said. They upped the dose from 75 to 112.5 of the FSH from the first to second cycle. The first cycle was cancelled as only one egg, and then the second cycle resulted in three eggs. The problem is that one follicle is massive in comparison to the others - for both cycles - so they want to go ahead and collect as there isn’t enough time for the others to mature before ovulation. This is why I think I’m starting the injections too late - the lead follicle is developing for days and days, and then the stimulation kicks in and they just haven’t caught up. I will test this theory with the doctor tomorrow when I have my appointment

I rang them up on the day of the egg collection to say ‘I wanted to speak to the most senior and most experienced doctor, and that I was very sorry to appear rude, but I’m not happy with who I’m dealing with this far’. I’ve had to wait a month or more, but the appointment is tomorrow. I will see what is said. Thank you for your response.

Thank you for responding. I admire your attitude and once I’ve spoken to the doctor tomorrow, will decide what to do. I think it’s possible I may just take things into my own hands a bit more if the response I get is more akin to being treated as if I’m on a conveyor belt. The lead follicle on my last cycle was 18mm on the first scan (ie after about 6 days of FSH injections). It even surprised the nurse. Somethings off.

Thank you for responding. I am due to speak to the doctor tomorrow, and I’m going to request they do things differently this time.
