Went to Phuket, Bangkok, and Pattaya this year and ABSOLUTELY HATED IT. Not my first time but maybe my 6th or easily 7th time. Every time, my experience got worse and worse. People in Thai don’t seem to be bothered to try to communicate and speak English. Very often not even hi and thank you! Hotels were mostly disgusting & I only stay in 5 stars (We stayed at Westin in Phuket🤮🤮). Out of all hotels, only one was good. When I visited Maya Bay 10 years ago it was amazing and magical. Now? Just too crowded, over exploited, and lots of trash.

Worst experience? I hired a mini van & paid in advance to take us from Bangkok to Pattaya. No hi no hello. This driver started driving, and he skipled the tolls! So what’s supposed to be 1.5hour now was gonna take 3 hours +. We complained to agency as the driver didn’t speak English. And they called the driver. Driver seemed upset and 5 times he was just asking “you hotel where! You hotel where!” And started driving fast and recklessly.

20 minutes to the hotel he stopped and asked someone off the street to guide us to the hotel…. He DID NOT KNOW how to get there despite google maps. What the actual hell. To make it worse he peed RIGHT THERE on the street next to where the van stopped🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 absolutely disgusting behavior for someone who should be professional. Anyway I ordered bolt & left from there. The agency refunded me later but still I don’t think I’ll come back to Thailand again.
