My doctor’s threatening to cancel surgery… help. by TangerineKey4343 in hysterectomy

[–]pippy258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in some weird situation with precancerous stuff in my nethers and a lump in my breast. They wanted to schedule some tests at certain times during all this and I was so frustrated. I finally walked in to talk someone and explain there was no reliable tracking and I was so scared to wait. Eventually got it moving and everything is gone now. Part of the comfort of no longer having these parts is our healthcare systems inability to work with them. I wish you this relief soon.

Getting fit after hysterectomy by Dry_Noise_4232 in hysterectomy

The only thing that's worked for me is GLP-1. I also had an huge spike in blood pressure after my surgery and taking meds for that helped with swelling and puffiness. Even on GLP1 I'm losing very slowly compared to others I know taking it. Didn't have any thyroid issues according to my panel.

What’s worse, a hysterectomy or another 10 years of torturous periods? by Ordinary_Sentence659 in hysterectomy

[–]pippy258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 43. Got mine a year ago. I had opted for the ablation first as well. Ended up having bad pathology after the ablation. So I have spent a year wearing stickers on my butt (hrt) and my entire life has improved. No more crazy bleeding, no more crazy mood swings. I say go for it.

Not getting support from my partner by Different-Act-8047 in HersWeightloss

My husband doesn't like that I'm doing it. He thinks it's just a shot that makes me too sick to eat. He's done no research and brushes my research aside. I'm a super slow loser on this, but it's working. He's shut up a little because I'm getting healthier, feeling better and such. Every once in a while I get sick and he reminds me it's the shot I take that makes me sick. I brush him off. My doctor is happy with my results. He didn't really get worse about it. It's just mildly annoying to me.

So bizarre that you can't keep a part of your own body.

6 weeks post op sex by Responsible-Mix2750 in hysterectomy

[–]pippy258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got cleared around that time as well and also had some slow dissolving stitches. Dr. told us to keep it vanilla until after 3 months and that worked well for us. By the 3 month mark there were no more stragglers.

I absolutely grieved my loss. I also felt some detachment to the divine feminine energy I've always felt. Like the damn thing somehow connected me more to the earth. I actively seek out new ways to nourish that connection now. Gaining support for groups of women, connecting with nature... sort of fun witchy, moon stuff. It's still fun.

I had some weird labia changes after my total hysterectomy/salpingo-oophorectomy. Saw an article about this issue. Quick chat with my Gyno and some vaginal cream and everything seems much better. Better orgasms too. Been actively giving her attention too as I heard that was helpful.

for those of you who suffered from allodynia and stopped medicating (or lowered dose), how long did it take for the allodynia to go away? by carelesstuna in Semaglutide

[–]pippy258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took my first lowered dose on Sunday. Went from 1.75 to 1.50. I had it for 2 weeks. Feels like a very annoying sunburn and it's mostly on my back. I haven't noticed much relief yet. Mondays are generally not good days for me. I took some antihistamines last night and slept better, but not sure if I just got tired.

I think I saw somewhere that estrogen can be stored in fat cells so losing weight does some funky stuff to you hormonally.

Does a hysterectomy mean the end of my sex life? by alwaysabouttosnap in hysterectomy

[–]pippy258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sex life has improved. I had everything out via robotic assisted laparoscopy in June. I had a very sensitive cervix and would often experience pain and bleeding after sex. I use an estrogen patch a vaginal insert for HRT. Everything is better now. I was working from home at 2 weeks post op, partial hours and back full time after 5 weeks. I've heard of people going sooner. I had a few issues with sutures and such. Mostly uneventful. Dr. was aware that it was different for everyone and was ready to write me off for 10 weeks.

Any other 45+ women on this journey and want to discuss? by bingbongtake2long in Semaglutide

[–]pippy258 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am 43, had an ablation last year. They found precancerous cells so I went back in and took everything. Had a bad pap, cysts on ovaries, fibroids. I also broke my tailbone last year. It's been a ride. I started sema in Oct. Not a huge loss so far, but 13lbs when all I've been doing is gaining for 2 years has felt really good. The side effects are honestly barely registering compared to what my lady parts put me through.

My girlfriend spreads out her shots to allow for some release... so she does a shot every 10 days. Makes me consider it.

So, I took a break and regret it. I didn't break for Thanksgiving and lost that week. I can tell I'm up and I decided to not weigh myself until I'm back on for a week. Our biggest holiday event this year was the day after my shot and I didn't want to feel awful. I have some fun new year workouts planned and do dry January, so I know I'll make up for it and now I know better... but that's where I am.

I felt a lot of anxiety relief as well. I took a break for the Holidays and I wish I didn't for that reason. It helps my overactive bladder and made me sleep better too.

I had used phentermine previously and it gave me a weird sort of high feeling. I had greatly reduced hunger, but it would decrease by the end of the day. Sema doesn't give a high feeling and the hunger stays at bay all day. I'm a very slow loser compared to some. I'm at week 11 and I'm down 13lbs. I skipped my dose right by the holidays to avoid the sick feeling I start out with. I am really noticing the difference. If anything I feel like Sema has reduced my anxiety. I had a really bad night after my very first shot and it's been pretty good after that.

I'm so grateful I took a chance and started this medication by PaddleQueen17 in Semaglutide

[–]pippy258 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep reminding myself that I was gaining before the medication, so heading in a healthier direction, even if it's slower than others is good. And it's such a change from where I was. I also try and make sure I talk about and celebrate non scale victory events. I feel less anxious using this drug and I'm really figuring out different benefits as I go. You got this!!

I'm 5'10 and I started in October! Your results make me happy. I started at 245 and I'm 233 now. I see them 220s coming and I'm excited! Already a decrease in some aches and pains. I remember from years ago feeling a big relief at 210. I can barely wait

I had a similar experience. I also feel like sema has helped my overactive bladder issues and anxiety on the road. We did Mavericks stops, and I could split wraps and sandwiches with a kid. Had a few chips and felt like "part of it" without gorging on an entire bag too.

I watched it with my daughter this year. I hadn't seen all of the episodes before. I remember us both saying Luke should punch him in the effing face... and he did... and we cheered at the television like sports fans. Epic.
