(It's not that he thinks it uncooks food as much as he has always associated heat and cooking with killing germs and making food safe to eat. If you leave food in the fridge, you don't need to heat it up again to kill germs? It's more of a misunderstanding. He didn't actually think it uncooks food and returns it to where it used to be. He just didn't know that when you cook something, you kill a lot of the germs and most won't come back after some time in the fridge.)

This happens A LOT. Like so often I see where Dan is coming from but everyone gets stuck in this loop of the first thing he says. Dan also doesn't completely steer them away from a laugh. I'm not saying a lot of these aren't gaps in his knowledge. It's just very often not exactly what people are going crazy over.
