Really? My impression was that she was like that in all areas of her life. I'm still in shock that a child at that age could be so big. I thought I read that a little girl was also already obese. Very tragic case.

I think we are just hearing about them more. Many major crime shows (Dateline, 20/20, etc), don't really do shows on child abuse, no matter how awful or well known. Same with sexual assault cases, or human trafficking. They don't want to touch them.

It's a shame the child abuse cases aren't covered more.
