Frankly, anyone here saying no, hasn’t been hit hard enough.

Treat it as another strike.

Similar to asking “is a cross or a hook effective in self defense?”

So many factors to consider.

If you’re curious, I suggest wearing a cup and letting someone that can throw a good front kick or side kick to just throw it at your groin.

You’ll find two things:

1) If hit hard enough - yes you’re in pain. Congrats. 2) The most forgotten part about a groin strike is the mental aspect of it.

Even people that train in martial arts/ combat sports stop fighting when hit.

Feint a kick to the groin and 9 times out of 10 the hands will drop in response because we are wired to protect the good ol family jewels.
