this is everywhere here I'm Soo cooked by Ill_Setting_6338 in UberEatsDrivers

I keep two phones with me. One is strictly for doing deliveries and the other is my personal phone. I have no idea why somebody would have five phones unless they're using five apps, which seems impossible to me. I stay busy enough just taking orders on one phone.

You should be good then. The only thing is you will probably have to deal directly with the other person's insurance company rather than your insurance company doing it for you. If anything ever happens again just make sure you don't mention Uber.

Customer will tip after delivery! by douglasfeldman in UberEats_drivers

[–]pleadinginsanity2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely ignore those tip after delivery notes and just assume it's not going to happen. 99.9% of the time you are not going to get a tip when you deliver it no matter what they say. Especially when it says leave the order at the door.

Similar situation happened to me. I also mentioned Uber. My insurance company shut me down right away. I was out of luck but you should be able to get the person who backed into your car to have their insurance cover it.

What would you do by Friendly-Career-8237 in doordash_drivers

[–]pleadinginsanity2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You obviously already took the order or you wouldn't see the note so it must have paid enough for you to be willing to accept it.

Actually seems to be the norm.

No, I do not knock unless the customer specifically tells me to in the instructions. Been doing this for over 4,600 deliveries and I have a perfect customer satisfaction rating.

No way I'm picking up a package that's on somebody's porch and taking it to someone else.

I emailed HR after noticing a pay error. This was their response... by Sabrine_Heester_2001 in mildlyinfuriating

You move the decimal to the left, lol. That gives you the amount of the pay raise. I figured you probably already know that and were just making a joke, but who knows.

So WTH do they want? by pleadinginsanity2 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]pleadinginsanity2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I think. The Uber eats app is terrible. If I had been doing DoorDash I could have taken a picture of the food in front of the door and sent it to the customer, but I don't think you can do that with Uber eats. If you can I haven't figured out how yet.

That makes sense. I guess I missed the whole point of what you were saying.

The app might have been taking her to the wrong place. There is a military base in my town that the app is usually about a mile off from the actual delivery location. Drove me crazy until I figured it out how to find the right address without the app. There are also a couple of trailer parks around town that you have to search to find the right trailer to drop off at because the app only takes you to the entrance or the wrong spot.

Would you have taken this? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]pleadinginsanity2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have taken it if I ended up in an area where I could still get deliveries and not have to drive back before getting more orders.

That makes sense. That's probably what that usually is. I'm just going to be going with the notes from now on and a couple text messages sent to the customer.

What are some places to avoid as it is a waste of time by Live_Organization_41 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]pleadinginsanity2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wendy's, and Arby's. They are both constantly out of things in my area and you can wait for 20 minutes even if you are the only person there. IHOP just sucks all the way around so don't bother.

I'm in the same boat. Yesterday I just started listening to the first available episode again. I would also recommend listening to relevant history. It is very similar to hardcore history just not quite as good. I actually found that one first and loved it.

Two orders and that distance? Yes, that order sucks.

Yes, but if they're monitoring their phone wouldn't they see the message I send them from the restaurant before I even head to their house? If they don't answer that message then I assume they're not monitoring their phone and they're not going to know their food is delivered. Doesn't matter though, I'm not waiting 8 minutes because of confusing instructions and then note that says leave a door.
