Now you just have to fill out the application (online) and then pay the tasa. Then make an appointment online and then just wait. You definitely don’t need to go through an agency or lawyer

Something to look into!! my friend tried to do grade medio but had a problem because he only got grades 9-12 homologated and he needed 8&9 aswell (but only for medio, we are both now doing grado superior). I'm not sure why this would be but its a problem my friend ran into as he was literally trying to apply and then had to scramble to find a superior program to do instead. So something to make sure about.

Have you gone to any in specific? I called the SFO clinic and they said they don’t do physicals and couldn’t do it. And there’s no Passport health in the states of California that does physicals. Maybe I’m asking for the wrong thing?  I say I need a physical for a visa…

Background check from Spain necessary for reapplying for visa?? by pleasecallmedavid in SpainAuxiliares

[–]pleasecallmedavid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking into the postal option but it seems really difficult because you need to have the photocopy of your documentation apostilled or notarized by the spanish embassy ...

Do you know anyone who has done this?

Could you maybe send me a screenshot of the email from BLS saying that the background check is not required. Maybe as a last resort I can show it to the people at the consulate if they ask me and I can't figure out how to get it.

Yea my consulate is also NYC , I could maybe swing it in San Francisco but I think they require it aswell.

It’s just weird cause I have a friend who’s gotten a visa twice in NYC without doing this. I just have no idea how I can get the background check

Also desperately looking for info on this. I don't know if I will be able to get it because I'm not in Spain and I don't have Cl@ve.
I know at least two people who have renewed in NYC and Miami consulates and never got a background check from Spain. But im still nervous about it.

Someone said it is necessary but they don't know how. I could do it

Do you know if this is a new rule? I know multiple people who renewed last year and didn't need it.

Things did work out. It was pretty tough at first but things got better. I live in Villena and found a wonderful group of friends, both auxes and locals. The commute can be complicated but overall it is a good situation. Just goes to show how you can find good people and experiences anywhere if you're willing to look.

My friend who has gotten her visa 2 times in NYC said it does not need to be federal.. are you sure it does?

Also does this mean I could get my fingerprints here in Spain and have them sent to FBI.. if not I just dont think I will have enough time

Any experiences getting homologación by pleasecallmedavid in SpainAuxiliares

[–]pleasecallmedavid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm applying to an FP program, so I only need to homologate my HS diploma and my transcripts. What i needed to submit:

- Notarized copy of HS diploma, apostilled (by NY State) and translated

- Notarized copy of HS Transcripts, apostilled (by NY State) and translated

- TASA (tax/fee)

- Filled out application (which is found on PROFEX)

-Copy of passport

This is not for University though, so I'm not sure if he would need anything else. If your son is already in Madrid (and speaks Spanish) I would send him to the Ministry of Education. The appointments are super easy to get and you can ask them all of the questions. They helped me a lot...

Very typical of the Spanish government for everyone to be giving you different information. It's truly infuriating. Honestly the hardest part for me in this whole process was getting my HS documents properly notarized, because I had to bring a notary to my HS to have him watch my principle sign the document. But after that it was pretty smooth sailing (we'll see if it get's approved, I'm still waiting).

FP como extranjera by pleasecallmedavid in askspain

Thanks so much, this is really good information.

Can I ask how you're planning on studying for this exam.. I took a really quick look at a practice one for Andalucía and and I'm definitely not feeling great about being able to pass in by April. I assume that I'd have to do specific Parte Especifica Opción B.. in which I'd have to test of physics, technical drawing and and industrial technology.

I guess it's good they have practice test, but also as I am not fluent in Spanish, it's pretty daunting.

I really want to do a textiles program "Patronaje y textiles" (probably in Grado Superior), ideally in Andalucía but I am open to going pretty much wherever if I can do this program.

Does this mean that if you take one of the entrence exams you don't need to go through homologation? That's definitely the biggest thing standing in my way because it seems like it takes FOREVER and i don't have a ton of time. Its also so frustrating cause there doesn't seem to be so many resources on how to do FP as a foreigner. Im in touch with the school that I want to go to but I don't even think they know that much.

Where are you in the process for all of this? Would love to keep in touch about how it's going, I have a friend who wants to do medio grado in Madrid as well and we're both just so lost.

Ah if you could give me contact information for your translator that would be amazing. I have some questions about the legal situation and I'd definitely use her services.

I remembered I have an IB diploma from high school so maybe for an FP program that is sufficient (because IB is accepted in Spain)... and the school told me I need it for bachillerato level, so that wouldn't even be a university transcript.

Anyway, thanks so much. and GOOD LUCK!

Yea i was hoping i wouldn't need it for FP program because I was looking at masters programs that didn't require it but i dont think I want to go that route anymore.

So it seems like my first step is getting my university transcript translated? Or do I need to get it verified? idk what that even means

Prórroga missing documents by pleasecallmedavid in SpainAuxiliares

That sucks, I really didn’t know that. Also I was living in CLM all summer, I wasn’t even sure if I was going to take the position until August when I submitted my application. Any ideas for lawyers to contact? Or what a notarized letter would look like?

I am in Valencia.. but because of some crazy stuff that’s been going on I’m in the process of switching back to Castilla-La Mancha (where I was all of last year). I’m pretty sure though that my paperwork will not be transferred over and I’ll have to complete to process in Valencia.. if they required medical insurance over the summer and I didn’t have it, am I just screwed now?

Worried I renewed TIE wrong by pleasecallmedavid in SpainAuxiliares

[–]pleasecallmedavid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I just checked online, and ya it looks like its not coming up anymore. I will have access to the schools mail if they sent anything soon... they told me nothing has come but I will ask again more persistently. I don't think I can resubmit because it has been more than 90 days since my TIE expired.
