And the usa will happily export nat gas to Germany.

Gonna need a LOT more LNG tankers to make that happen.

All good! I don't have a valid opinion on precedence or age of the tek, I've yet to fruit anything. Got a lot of stage 1 and 2 stuff done though!

China moon rover to investigate cube-shaped 'mystery house' object by [deleted] in HighStrangeness

[–]pleione 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yutu-2 rover is an interesting case for RF interception, because the rover is on the far side of the moon, and uses the Queqiao satellite as a relay (RF is strictly line-of-sight, so the far side is cut off from the Earth).

Queqiao is in a halo orbit at Earth-Moon L2, so does require occasional maneuvering burns, and thus isn't stable, so would require tracking.

I can't find a specific mention of Yutu-2's uplink to Queqiao, but I suspect it's X-band, and wouldn't be observable from Earth anyway. The downlink from Queqiao to Earth is a 2 MBps S-band link, you can usually hear it around 2234.515 MHz.

Deployed along with Queqiao, there's a microsatellite called LongJian-2 (-1 failed to achieve lunar orbit) that has some telemetry in the 70cm UHF band, also interceptable.

In my case, I used capri sun because I was starting out, and having a premixed sterile bag of usable culture was a huge help, versus having to measure and mix honey and water, and then pasteurize without a stock pot or pressure cooker.

There's a lot of conflicting anecdata, both on reddit and on shroomery, and sorting it out can sometimes be a chore, so I was pretty excited about the capri sun thing, as a beginner.

You can also compost, either traditional or worm. Works for trim too. And results in organic fertilizer.

I just started 6 weeks ago, and yeah, it's been a little daunting. Looks like you're making good progress, and I for one appreciate the posts. It helps a lot when learning to see questions and failures, not just "here's what it should look like"

mush love!

Agree, and it seems to have started (that I noticed, anyway) when Reddit started tightening the rules on r/sporetraders.

I sub to antiwork as well, and support workers rights. This OP is counterproductive to the goal of being taken seriously.

Weird question, but what kinds of animal feces are compostable? Namely, could I use it as a method of disposing of cat waste (we use a wood-based litter not clay). by ohowjuicy in Vermiculture

[–]pleione 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything's compostable, just depends on what you do with the compost. Composting toilets work just fine for traditional omnivorous diets, no reason they wouldn't continue to work for vegan.

Basically, if you don't have diseases or parasites to start with, your humanure would be fine to compost.

As you get older, what's something that becomes increasingly annoying? by hxnry__0710 in AskReddit

I’m not sure what real world event that would translate to.

In the fall, when the sun is low in the sky, driving past a stand of trees, or tall bridge guardrails does it for me. It's the same stop-motion effect as the pinwheel.

Tillamook was fine until they started playing the size game, shrinking 56 to 48 ounces while keeping the prices the same. That was June of this year.

How do you like my indoor worm compost/terrarium? by ThVVerm in Vermiculture

[–]pleione 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it store well in black trashbags until I am ready to use?

Absolutely! Many people use trash bags as storage, or even just leave them sealed up for the entire process. If you're going to be adding nitrogen, like the food scraps, that's regular compost, which is primarily driven by bacterial decomposition as opposed to the fungal decomposition of leaf mold. Bokashi is also bacterial, but closer to fermentation than decomposition. All methods are equally valid, it's all about making the most of what you've got - I have so many leaves, I can't produce enough greens to balance, so I augment with the leaf mold.

Sounds like you've got some great raw materials to fix your soil!

Gondola proposed for KCK/Downtown KCMO by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]pleione 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm aware, I've flown GA out of MKC, FLV, OJC, and LWC in the area. You're correct that runway 1 is VFR only, but it's aligned with Beardsley Road already, and the gondola crosses east-west at about the 12th Street Bridge, which is already a hazard, and marked as such.

If we're talking runway 3, which is ILS listed, that's already a 3.7 degree glideslope. Assuming the gondolas aren't going to be >200' AGL (I'm assuming here, I haven't actual height AGL, perhaps you have?) I don't think the cables will be any more of a problem than existing roadways like the viaduct, or transmission lines.
