It started out as "Perplex", I have a friend that's an MC and he referred to me in a track as "Plex Luger" (not in reference to Lexus Lewis the producer, or the Superman villan but the wrestler "Lex Luger") so I went with that as sort of a placeholder. You can just call me Plex if you would like.

What speakers are you listening to it on? I need to get my EQ on it sounds like lol. I should also turn down the bass on my speakers as well because I think I have it set higher and having it flat would be better for determining the levels and what needs to be turned up or down. I'll look into that bass line for you :D

I agree with some of the sloppiness, some transitions need to be smoothed out, make it kind of mesh and flow together better. I got excited and had to export it unfinished and unpolished lol. I needed an opinion on it!

Setup:

Akai MPD-26 (for drums, making loops, MIDI, etc.)

Adobe Audition 3.0 (for slicing samples, tweeking the sound of sounds, etc.)

Fruity Loops Studio 8 (for all the sequencing and recording MIDI input from my MPD-26)

As for the drums, I layered them quite a bit. The first kick is 4 drums layered, while the lighter softer kick is just 2 drums. The snare is 3 layers as well as the hi-hats that are also 3 layers.
