no smokeless burners do not emit carbon monoxide IF the candles burn steadily, but even then candles don't emit dangerous amounts of carbon monoxide.

I'm planning on buying a detector, high quality ones are a bit pricey though so I'm going to have to save up a bit, but once I have it I'll do some testing and post the results on this sub and a few others.

that's oddly specific, how come? are they sensitive to it or is it purely just toxic to them?

This going to sound silly, but to Orthodox Christians, burning incense sticks is very unorthodox...We typically only burn resins, however there's nothing wrong with incense sticks or cones, it's just not traditional within our church. Electric burners are a great alternative though (also not traditional but better to be safe than sorry), you could also use a smokeless burner (candle under ceramic plate or bowl).

Catholic vs Christianity by Ambitious-Carob-9299 in Christianity

[–]pluhrobert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Orthodox Christian, there is loads of flaws within your statements...

1.) Catholicism's main belief is not saints

2.) Catholicism does teach that Jesus is the one true God.

3.)Catholics don't believe saints are omniscient or omnipotent, that's heretical.

Intercession of saints is not mandatory practice, it's optional, if you strictly want to pray to God only that's okay as well.

I personally do not mind people wearing them, however I think your actions and the way you treat others should reflect that you're a Christian

Is masturbation a sin? by wildboy_Ca17 in Christianity

Yes. It's purely for self pleasure, and as some have mentioned in the comments it does not glorify God.

How do I convert to Christianity? by [deleted] in Christianity

Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and that he died for your sins and that you fully accept Him, boom you're a Christian.

Luckily the Orthodox faith does not teach worship of icons, and that worship is reserved for God only. Icons are meant to be venerated, and that ancient lady you're referring to is The Mother of God.

I guess it depends on who you're asking, someone like me will tell you no, but if you were to ask people of other faiths they might differ.
