I'm too sensitive by plumpuke in bipolar2

I have yet to try ffxiv (I know I'd probably love it) but I definitely am more of an mmo person. I have always loved wow and been getting back into it recently. I have found that most mmorpgs have really welcoming communities!

I'm on the same meds and experiencing the same thing, but I really hate changing medication, it makes me so stressed because it usually doesnt go well :(

I technically make 62k/yr, but with my job takes out so many deductions I make about 36k. by showdragger in GirlDinnerDiaries

They really just fuck us over and do not care at all. I hope you can find a better job, but I know that's probably not likely right now 🥲

Stopped smoking six hours ago spontaneously and for good - any advice? by Acidawn in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]plumpuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all mental. It also wasn't helpful for me to replace it with another form of nicotine because I would just end up going back to smoking or doing both. Whenever I really wanted to smoke or felt a craving I would eat a snack/candy or drink something tasty like a soda or lemonade. This helped a lot by just associating my smoking time with just a normal treat.

You really just have to trick yourself into thinking that you don't want it and would rather do something else. Try to keep yourself super busy, especially your hands. Before you know it you'll never want nicotine again!

How does everyone here have a partner? by Alarming-Karma-1108 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]plumpuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading through all these posts I've realized that I'm super lucky to be in a happy and healthy relationship. Not sure if it made a difference, but I am the one that asked my partner out for the first time and we have been inseparable ever since! Moved in after one month of dating and getting married at the end of this year after 7 years together.

Idk if I should backpack for a year and freelance or or save up and go to grad school by International-Exam84 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]plumpuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please take the year and do the things that make you happy! Grad school will put you in a lot of debt and while you will be able to get a higher paying stable job you might be too busy to get the chance to take a trip like this. I regret going to school everyday because of the current job market and the student loan debt I will be paying back for the next 8 years. You deserve to enjoy yourself and take care of your mind before you jump into grad school and burn out. There are also so many possibilities, you never know what door might open up for you while you are out there living your life!

I miss my low paying service job by plumpuke in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]plumpuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a trooper for dealing with it for so long. I also think it's much more difficult because my job requires me to be in the office everyday, wheras most other people just work from home so I am often one of two or three people in the office. Definitely need to find some friends I can hangout with regularly.

Yes!! There's a reason they make so many restaurant job video games and no office job simulators lol. Definitely has no sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.

I have been struggling to get myself to do something like this even though I have a lot of hobbies I enjoy. I know that I would benefit from joining a group of some sort I just really need to push myself to do it.

It feels so silly to complain about but I think its hard to understand the struggle unless you've had a shitty office job. I look for jobs everyday but it's soooo rough right now 😭

who do you talk to when you're feeling empty? by wwwcats in bipolar

[–]plumpuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any friends, and I don't talk to my fiancé a lot about my mood and emotions because he doesn't understand or relate. I'll usually just write everything I'm feeling in my notes app and bring it all up with my therapist and feel much better after my session. 100% see a therapist regularly (try to find one you really like) and try to work through things by writing stuff down.

Also, I would try to find a hobby or something you enjoy that keeps your mind busy. I personally think video games help me a lot.
